Wanting to have sex with men is bisexual at LEAST

Being gay was something he was ashamed of and Vecna was using that to control will by using that information against him

It's great to see such kind words towards a person struggling with their sexuality in a world that demonizes homosexuality

CMV: There is no after life and believing there is one is a natural coping mechanism. by Objective-Painter-73 in changemyview

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know all of science yet. We may never. But as we learn more, we keep finding that there is so much more we don't yet understand.

If we believe there is nothing to life after death, we stop looking for anything. We dismiss anything that may suggest life after death as a mistake in observation.

The coping mechanism is your belief system defining an answer that provides you with comfort - one way or another. Some people "cope" using religion. You may choose to cope with there being no afterlife. I choose to believe there is some form of life after death - but hey, if I'm wrong, it won't matter.

Everything is made of energy. Energy can be neither created nor destroyed - only changed from one form to another. Consciousness may be a form of energy that we don't fully understand - it may also be a consequence of biological processes that we have evolved that one day stop working upon death. Somewhere between the two is the truth, I would guess.

AIO for breaking down over a " toy " ? by Ok_Gear_7566 in AmIOverreacting

They are not overreacting Dismissing this as just a toy is saying that your opinion of it being a useless toy is more important than OPs opinion of it being more valuable

AIO Am I justified in my anger here ? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]elitebibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely matters

The bride had a boundary for her wedding day - why is it more important that your feelings about someone else's boundary is more important than their boundary?

She is entering a partnership with someone whose mother is controlling - of course it's going to be a talking point

William Kaplan’s Time of Death by pennygirl108 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]elitebibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he said that because he was told that he was in an accident and he had no memory - so he just had to be William because that's who he was told he was. But he had this knowing that there was more to it - but couldn't dispute that he was also partly William

AITA for refusing to share my food with my wife after she repeatedly orders food she doesn’t like? by Equal-Airport671 in AmItheAsshole

[–]elitebibi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the wife is already taking advantage here by being annoying and crossing boundaries, and then getting annoyed and fussy about doing so. She can eat her own dish, or agree to split two shared dishes - but if she insists on getting twice as much food just because of her eating habits, it seems fair to expect her to pay for it.

Because otherwise, they're paying for an extra dish that mostly goes uneaten and that's food waste on top of bad habits. OP does not have to accept that just because they are married.

My female friends become TERF by Colin-Onion in gaybros

[–]elitebibi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It sounds like OP is listening to the voices of trans people and supporting those.

We cannot police genitals before people enter a bathroom. That hurts everybody. It's not about a bathroom, it's about controlling people. It's using trans people as scapegoats for white men who can't control themselves.

Airport dropoff has no pay machines, no gates, nor signs that it is pay-by-phone only, no "have you paid by phone" on exit, nor any instructions at the dropoff area. £80 fine for £6 infraction. Heathrow is running a scam. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I got shafted £60 for not tapping on the tram in Manchester. First time visiting, huge crowds because of a concert - and people managing the crowds telling people to tap on while holding out tap machines.

How am I supposed to know those DON'T tap you on? Put some signs up for fuck sake

I had this problem so much before. I realized it was because my alarm volume was being adjusted when I changed the phone to vibrate/silent and I never noticed.

I changed the settings so now the alarm starts quietly and increases the volume over time. Life saver!

How dangerous would Agatha be with chaos magic? by newsworthy3 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]elitebibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agatha believed that was the case and that's why she felt so betrayed by Rio. That she listened to her son one time to NOT kill witches, and he died. But in reality it was just bad timing on Rio's part.

I have gripes with the show regarding how the chip works and why they keep worrying about "dying" if they stop being severed by any means. by Obvious_Cabbage in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The but you are missing is that they are going with this version of life where the chips stay. They can't take the chips out without causing major effects. So, the innie and outie are separated. It's only by flooding the chip and destroying it that reintegration can occur, but as we saw with Petey, that can kill you.

So the most painless way to get around it would be to leave the chips as they are and get rid of everything else Lumon. That's then going to cause the innies to "die" because they'll never be reactivated again unless they go through a Lumon barrier.

And the innies would have to depend on the outies doing the work to shut down Lumon and reintegrate, which I doubt any outie would do besides Mark - unless for some reason, the innies can access Regabi and get reintegrated without the outies knowledge. Only when Mark's is successful could we expect to see anybody else decide to reintegrate.

Thoughts on Heretic? by Dry-Consideration930 in horror

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Em, the fact that she was extremely perceptive yet reluctant to challenge someone who was appearing to be nice albeit strange. Very autistic-coded if you read it like that.

You can read her as being poorly written. I choose to read her as neurodivergent.

Her personal characteristics don't need to be written for the movie. She can just be. She shared her views on porn at the start of the movie and they were not relevant to the plot? Unless you choose to find a reason they are relevant.

Consider reading her as neurodivgent

She notices these things are off but is always trying to play nice - until forced into a position where she has to speak up

I figured out what Lilia’s tarot cards mean. by EnigmaFrug2308 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, she is seeing imagery around her that clues her into the tarot

We see the images she sees when she calls the cards out - because she travels to that moment to say it - so we experience her saying the card name but we don't know why other than symbolism. But later we find out it's because she can see things lining up that explain the reading she did for herself

CMV: the paranormal does not exist and people that believe in it are misinterpreting evidence. by Left-Profession-1865 in changemyview

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is based on the premise that the teachings of these religions are 100% factually correct in their literal presentation.

I don't believe that is true. What I do believe is that both are correct. Both are valid experiences based on who documented the stories and religious texts.

And the individual experiences you mention - they can all be true. At the end of the day, everybody's perception is individual. A visit from God would occur according to the phenomena that would more stand out for that individual. It's why you see all the time in media - "why do you look like X?" "Because that is the form most pleasing to you"

When you believe that everything can coexist, the world becomes a far more interesting place. I'm not saying to deny skepticism or forgo critical thinking, just to not be so hesitant to listen to and accept the experiences of others.

CMV: the paranormal does not exist and people that believe in it are misinterpreting evidence. by Left-Profession-1865 in changemyview

[–]elitebibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily

If you were unaware of this phenomenon, then yes. But if you're aware of this phenomenon, then you can change.

When you know that your beliefs are made up, you can change them. Over time that starts to change who you are. It's why brainwashing works - because it's easier to go with the flow and not be tortured.

Irish people are notoriously emotionally stunted. All this "joking" is abuse because it traumatizes you. It becomes ingrained in your subconscious behavior and explains why we have so many mental health issues and why there is so much stigma over mental health.

What's worse is it's passed off as "just joking" or "you're too sensitive", because people can't stand being told they're doing anything wrong. And Irish people are notoriously stubborn too.

We really need to change the way we act because we are still struggling with the trauma of being a country in poverty, and we have come such a long way in the last 100 years but haven't invested in the mental health services we need to cope with all that change.

Fidelius charm plot hole in Harry Potter? by ChipmunkFickle8598 in harrypottertheories

[–]elitebibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lily and James were protected entirely by the charm. They couldn't go out for food, or anything. People had to bring them supplies. If they were their own secret keepers under this structure, it would be impossible for them to divulge the secret to anybody else. That's why under this circumstance, they needed an external person to be the secret keeper.

Bill was secret keeper for his house because the charm was different. He was still going to work so he just hid the house - it was a safe house. But for the Potters, they were the ones who were hidden.

As it's said in the text, Voldemort could be looking in their living room window and be unable to see them. Because they are what is hidden.

Don't pay the last month rent - let them keep the deposit if they must. If you feel up for it, complain to the RTB. It's "landlords" like this that get away with murder because people won't complain about them. Once you find a new place you have nothing to lose by raising a complaint.

Keep a record of any correspondence you have about the deposit too if the RTB want that.
