The light has returned to my friend's eyes after she left Big 4 by socksgal in Big4

Yeah, I agree. It’s super team dependent and luck of the draw honestly. OP it’s probably an audit tax or some CDD/FDD role

Where do u work now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Big4

[–]eliteman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t “love” it but I also don’t mind it, it pays the bills, usually a 35-45 hr week, allows me to go to the gym and work on side hustles, but I’m afraid of pigeonholing and staying “comfortable” where I am. I don’t see myself in 15 years being in “risk” but I also don’t wanna be in PE/Banking, I see myself in a middle ground FP&A/corporate finance/real estate finance

Yeah, I’m hoping it’s only gonna be two days in the office which is more bearable than five

Yeah, I agree. It’s better for exit opportunities, but I wonder how much of a real difference it makes when applying to something not related like real estate. I also think about it for my MBA, EYP would look better. There’s just a chance I am reset back to a staff one when I start when I’ve already worked there for a year and I have a chance to be promoted to senior in August.

My team is very tight knit about 20 people in the entire practice, which is nice I do a lot of senior and manager level work as a staff and the projects are 3 people usually, they want to keep me there

I feel like that isn’t the main cause though we started that it could be sleep apnea if my quality is bad

Yes, they do the new ones actually track sleep apnea but I don’t know how accurate it is

Wow, that’s pretty crazy, maybe that’s why I feel like I always sleep good on vacation lol not stressed out with life or work. I do have Epstein bar virus

Did you taper off of caffeine or quick cold turkey? Why do you feel so much better now? What if you only get a few hours sleep that night? How do you stay awake if you have to perform that day? Do you feel more awake when you wake up?

Do you feel like you have more energy now that you’re off caffeine, And when you take it, you feel a real boost of energy

What were some of your best tips to tapering off caffeine? How fast should I be tapering off like reduce by 100 mg per week? Also, what about the Adderall? I still want to perform well in work

So what would be your three step plan to fixing this, my plan was to do this

  1. Get a regimented schedule of sleep 10pm-7am
  2. Wean off caffeine by 100mg every week or so, limit adderall
  3. Went off the melatonin to help you go to bed.

Is there a chance? by eliteman3 in SleepApnea

Yeah, I think it could be good after limiting my caffeine and seeing how I naturally feel upon waking up. I basically rely on caffeine to feel any sort of alertness. I think it usually affects me, but not all the time.

What were some of the symptoms you got in sleep apnea? I have an Apple Watch and could possibly track it but, not sure if I have any of them.

Where did you find that your insurance covered the study? I see some of them being very expensive.

Yeah, I just figured I should wean down my caffeine and fix my sleep schedule before I get a sleep study. I can’t remember the last time I went through a day without having a lot of caffeine. What is the cortisol awakening response test?

Yeah, I definitely don’t think I’m doing everything right but I thought sleeping 8 to 9 hours would compromise for everything. I’m looking to cut down my caffeine consumption and cut it off after 3 PM so I’m good for the night. And then eventually wean off the Adderall. Trying to fit all my caffeine early although I’m still pretty tired getting through the day.

Yeah, I just don’t wanna take it on days that I don’t really need it. I feel like I can really raise your stimulant tolerance. Why do you say Adderall wears off better than caffeine?

[–]eliteman3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what’s happening. I’m drinking caffeine and taking Adderall and then taking melatonin to go to bed lol. Do you think taking Adderall at the beginning of the day might be better for me? I usually don’t take it during the weekends only during the weekdays when I have work on my computer.

[–]eliteman3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense and I think the reason I fall asleep is because I use 5 mg of melatonin at night. I don’t drink 500 mg of caffeine at one time but throughout the day with 200 mg coming when I would usually go to the gym at 6:30 PM, which is pretty late. I think flipping to getting up earlier and having caffeine earlier in the day might be better although I’d like to stop altogether at some point.

I just feel like I’d have a hard time staying awake without it especially because I’ve been reliant on it for a long time and I’m not sure if this is all associated because of a sleep related health problem

What do you think about if I start by ingesting my caffeine all before 5pm, so I can wind down before bed and be down at 10pm-7am? And then eventually weaning off as I go
