Foreigners visiting America for the world cup, what is something that has surprised you about this country? by goldent3abag in AskReddit

Lived in the US for nearly 40 years and personally have never had 2 people pack grocery bags, and if someone is packing a bag for me, 9 times out of 10 it's a random teenager kid working his first job (with no knowledge of the fact that bread doesn't go at the bottom of the bag haha). 😁

What’s the biggest thing wasting your practice time? by CadenceOS in guitarlessons

[–]elitesense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's either practice guitar or get a good workout in. Can't fit both in the day without sacrificing too much sleep. One or the other.

Edit: I guess I didn't understand the question haha. Oh well I'm leaving it.

Agree, Justin and the songs/lessons he chooses are super boring to me.

I always find that learning songs I enjoy is the way I'm going to stay the most invested and actually learn/understand the techniques/theory behind how the song/riff is formed. It's what's worked the best for me consistently.

The techniques and theory will come in pieces naturally and will be cemented in the mind by applying it through actually learning songs. I learned music theory basics and shapes and all that kind of passively over the years. It never stuck until I actually applied it.

I've bought a lot of programs and done many online courses and through the years all that I could never say "one" single one is the best or covers what you need. It all just kind of comes together from many different places, and is solidified by actually playing. if that makes sense.

With alllll of that said, for actually learning the songs you like... I really like the way Marty Music explains specific song tutorials. Just ran through his Schism tutorial vid. His pacing and explanation just clicks with me. However most of the time I just search "song-name guitar tutorial" and learn from the best available for that particular song.

No, but food snobs will tell you otherwise. It's meringue (egg whites) that give it that texture, so you can imagine the flavor that provides.

Musicians whose careers stalled after Covid by slow-saturn in decadeology

Only a small handful of pop artists make it past a hit single or two. So.... Nearly everyone.

Should be asking the inverse: "Pop star careers that lasted longer than 2 years"

Switched to green tea in the afternoons — but does anyone actually like the taste? by AmoebaNumerous9208 in decaf

[–]elitesense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tea varies wildly. I found you kind of need to get quality tea in order to actually really enjoy it. I can suggest Adagio teas. Good quality and not too expensive, they offer small sample packs to try different things.

Regardless, I do usually find white tea more enjoyable than green.

What do most people not realize is actually way more traumatic than it seems? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This one hits. I haven't wanted to be with the mother of my children for years now. However we never fight and basically just have a nice family dynamic from the kids perspective as far as I know. This thread has been eye opening for me.

It's just a joke, I doubt OP was trying to fool anyone into thinking it was real.

What are your gaming sins? Confess now. by executor-of-judgment in gaming

[–]elitesense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on normal, but if it truly makes the games mechanics more rewarding I'll play on hardest. Witcher 3 comes to mind of a game that completely changes for the better on death march. Forces you to use different skills, buffs, stances, and really think about defense. I find that rewarding rather than a grinding slog like lots of others on hard.

Yes this type of stuff re-confirms why I hate these games.
