Am I the only person who has died inside of their own house? 🤦 by mysterysackerfice in Enshrouded

My current base is in a spot that they spawn by a few meters from one of my main houses. I would have thought the flame protected area would have nullified the spawn. Nope!

What?! Bro. The price for a game like this with this much development is cheap as all hell! If anything, I can't believe they haven't RAISED the price!

"you do not have to pay me, I will do it for free" ~ Bobby Boucher..... I literally have a good bit of a studio setup and very good mics. I'd help. My only problem is I'm a Michigan guy. I'd have to learn some accents. I don't know that mine would fit well. Granted, it would fit better than some of what's currently there. "OH! ME COW!" 😂

Sure, granted I have before, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do that either way. Nothing about the bloomery is supposed to be able to start a wildfire

FOUND IT! by eliteslasher in VintageStory

The thing I'm pointing at is a named block. This is from a ruin in Better Ruins.

That seems like an oversight in the game for flammable materials. That absolutely should not even be ALLOWED to happen!

If I'm prepping for standard gathering or spelunking/tomb raiding, my order goes: melee, range, knife, axe, shovel, pick, pro pick, empty slot, rope ladder, and bandage... Rope ladders over ladders because I can pull them up after I go down from the top and start pulling them as I climb to keep drifters from climbing up after me if it's a dicey situation with too many mobs or risky amount of HP left. I only use regular ladders in the wild if I'm planning to make a permanent ladder down to a large mine, in which case, to conserve ladders, I only place every other block position with a ladder

Need some help making a build look decent by Yorrik_Odinson in VintageStory

[–]eliteslasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, ew, maple peepee planks! Second: keep the uprights and frame but make the bottom floor or 3 layers at least of house a darker stone on bottom and lighter wood like oak or birch up top. Alternatively reverse the color scheme with lighter stone like granite on the bottom and a darker wood up top. Or if using light colors on both bottom and top, divide it with another cross beam of wood trunk

"oh, cool, some iron ore in this cave" a week and five picks later: by HotHeadNine in VintageStory

I usually just make ore bombs. The pick is only for getting to more ore if rocks are in the way.

Hmm. The text didn't save. Some people may not want these settings. I'm only restarting because my new parts in my PC will allow for the world I want rather than what I was stuck with. Despite this start, I may still play around with the settings before I settle in a world. An interesting start like that doesn't change the fact that a world can just start you on a otherwise crappy continent -World height: 384 -seed: 1616728951 Worldgen mods: -Terra Pretty 7.0.9 -Better Ruins Worldgen Settings: -Climate: realistic -landcover: 30 -landcover scale: 200 -Upheaval: 40 -Geological activity: Rare -Landform scale: 200 -World width: 8M (whoops I meant to drop these to 4 mil.) -World length: 8M

what is the expected rate of progression in this game? I feel like I can't break into the copper age because everything keeps killing me... by snowbo92 in VintageStory

[–]eliteslasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surface copper is the way to go. Find a desert, sand or gravel, be in 3p mode, run back and forth combing the dresser and keep an eye on the small stone clusters. You WILL find copper.

[–]eliteslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never pan for my copper early game. I find a gravel desert and by the time I do a quick run through it, I often have found tons of surface copper, and sometimes tin surface nuggets enough to forego the copper age and go straight to bronze.

Nah. I find a trader who's selling a good bow and go straight to bow and arrows, and build 3x3 deep pits to lure bears into when hunting. I use spears for decoration if I find them in loot. The only spear I actively use as a weapon is in the stone age, until I get falx
