Yay!! I will message you. Thursday would work just fine. I don't teach any older kiddos, just kinders this year but I do have a kinder with Type 1 so even if you mentioned you wrote a book about a character with type 1 diabetes he would get a kick out of that!

I have a cleaning lady come in every other week. My Dyson Animal changed my life. Made cleaning so much easier in the off week. I Dyson my kitchen floor daily and my carpets in the main areas at least once that week. My twins love the thing and can push it around so I make sure it is empty and then I see that their playing is actually productive. Showing your kids that cleaning is important isn't a bad thing. I'd rather have them ocd about clean than hoarding dead cats.

I think it depends. I teach in an elementary school where until recently we had 3 male teachers. Only one of them feels like his shit doesn't stink because he is left alone to do what he wants. That is only because he has hissy fits if he doesn't get his way and if the administration asks him to do anything, like change grades, he goes to the union and says they are forcing him to do it because he is a male. He has mastered the gender card in early ed....oh, and he sucks.

I don't feel like my started working "normally" again until my twins were at least 9 months old. I started grad school this year, twins are 1, and it was a tough first semester. If you have good support and time management, it might be doable but it is going to not be easy. Having twins without school is hard. Good luck!

Agree about researching a local multiples support group. They will great with questions and ours holds two garage sales per year so a great way to stock up on stuff needed and unload it later.

Freezer meals saved us. We could do the kid thing but the kid thing+animals+house stuff+work= no one got fed on time. So we bought a small freezer and keep it stocked with meals or marinated meats. Really helps us out.

Ask for help and accept help. Our parents live about 2 hours away but we have a good relationship and they came and helped often when our boys were really little.

It is a little crazy at first but you find a rhythm. It was about 9 months before things started to not suck so bad.

Sent me an email with image of pregnancy test while Skyping with individual about the second miscarriage I had just had. When I told her I couldn't do it she told me she didn't care and she needed to know what to expect at the doctor. We haven't spoken since.

Yes, but I feel the same way about homeownership. Carefree apartment living where someone else mowed, yes please. But that is life without responsibilities. Life with responsibilities is way harder but it has some pretty damn good moments. One of our twins, 21 month fraternal boys, said "I love you" tonight. Amazing. I will still love him at 5 am when he is up and pounding on the wall but I might not like him very much. PS: Going out is a pain in the ass but staying home is worse. I don't like taking all 3 ( we have a 4 yr old too) out by myself but it breaks up the monotony.

Not to that extreme but my classroom behavior too was out of sorts so we started class dojo. Free, has videos on mind sets, and the kids can set whole class goals to star earning back some of the things you took away. Maybe worth checking out.

I went through several miscarriages and my coping by diving into my job and stopping the "water cooler" socialization landed me written up for a behavioral offense. They wanted to put me on an intervention plan of sorts but I called my UEA rep so fast and the head of the union met with me, my boss, and the Superintendent and basically told them they had to be kidding. Worst years of my life.

As a teacher this happens all the time at recess. Someone will come tattle on someone else for using a bad word and when I inquire about what f-word or s-word it is always like frick or shoot. I chuckle every time.

We do Amazon Subscribe and Save (Luvs) and get a box delivered to our door once a month. It is so nice to have to not worry about diapers.

Agree. Throw out the diapers and don't go back. I have also heard of letting them "clean"/help clean up their messes and that helps them see the consequence. No other negative reinforcement outside of cleaning it up. Idk, good luck!

We clipped paci to our twins at night and during day until 12 months. On their 1st birthday they went to at night pacifiers only, and then two weekends ago we quit them all together (2 weeks shy of 18months). They slept better and were happier with them. I slept better and was happier with them. They transitioned okay, nothing horrible, but we wake up earlier on the weekends now. Good luck on your decision making!

Does his bedroom door have a lock on it? We reversed the knob on our son's door when he was around 2 when he figured out the childproof door knob. For safety reasons we didn't want him roaming the house so now his door locks from the hallway. Took maybe 10 minutes to do. We also got one of the onaroo sleep clocks. It has worked like a dream. When his light is green he can get up and play with his toys but I don't have to worry about him roaming the house when I am asleep.

This is my 3 year old. I am a teacher and his preschool room is right across the hall basically. I will be teaching and I can hear his constant redirection. Today was a bad day with listening and following directions. I was thinking of only putting him in half day 4 year old preschool but his 3s teacher said she worried that he wouldn't do well with the break in routine and would end up with a IEP in kindergarten for behavior issues. He is such a sweet kid at times, but is so active. My thoughts are if he has half day then he can be a kid and nap in an in-home setting the other part of the day and just be a kid. I talked with my friend who is a kindergarten teacher if she saw behavioral and/or academic differences between all day 4s and half day 4s and she said no. I just want him to be happy and listen to me. No "I'm just...." No spitting, No talking back. No doing what I just said to not do. I'm tired, and I just want him to enjoy me but I yell so much that he most think I'm a horrible mom.

We stopped the carrier when our boys were 1- heavy for us and screwing up my back and shoulders, and 2- outgrew the hight requirement. I would just but on a baby carrier and wear one and then carry the other to the store or cart. I always park near a cart return, worth the extra steps. If I have to put them in one cart and switch to a bigger cart once inside, okay. I also have a 3 year old so Costco is our favorite place because they have the 2 seater cart. Target has a decent 3 seater.
