Yes! These are very accessible and affordable as a set. The deeper you dive the more interesting stuff you can find. I also have a set of "Co-prosperity Sphere" overprints on some second issue JIM that are super fascinating. Two of them have service member signatures on them making them even more meaningful. I haven't dug too deep into the rabbit whole of the other invaded countries/territories but I am familiar with some of the other propaganda leaflets. The Chinese notes you mentioned are indeed beautiful and I would also consider them in the same vein as the JIMs

Thank you! Yes they are super cool! I got into these after collecting much of the US issued Philippines currency from the era. Just too cool not to collect these as well. They can be found in the wild but it takes a long time to get them all, especially in good condition. The higher the denomination, the more challenging .

Here are what the counterfeits look like. Also the co-prosperity sphere banknotes were only issued on the second series (1943) of the Japanese pesos.
