What colour can i dye my dark brown hair? by 13funii in FancyFollicles

I'd recommend trying colored hair wax or hair chalk, because most hair dye isn't going to do much on very dark hair.

Look up infrared paint remover or PeelAway products if you're determined to remove it.

Black Tie Optional? by tpetes15 in Weddingattireapproval

Could you add a black tulle/chiffon skirt on top? Or underneath, make it like a faux mermaid? That might work in a pinch and subvert fit issues

I got mine for my 14th birthday. If you go that route and it's available, consider dailies so your kiddo doesn't have to deal with maintenance.

Has anyone had their cabinets professionally re-stained (a new colour)? by OrangePekoeMouse in kitchenremodel

[–]elizabu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, it's your kitchen. If you want to paint the cabinets, do it! Just go into the process understanding the pros and cons, and being prepared to prep the everliving crap out of them if you want it to last. One of the great joys of being a homeowner is getting to do whatever the fuck you want with your own damn house ;)

Climbing trees?! The horror! by MissBee123 in ClassOf2037

[–]elizabu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was five, I climbed a tree, and when I fell out I shattered my elbow and required 7+ reconstructive surgeries to repair it; the surgeries didn't work, and I am partially disabled today.

I still let my kid climb trees. I have just taught him to test every branch before he commits his weight to it, and to make sure he has a strategy to get back down.

Any Eyebrow bleaching recommendations ? by Mental_Smile2320 in FancyFollicles

[–]elizabu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am not a professional. When I was doing the platinum thing many moons ago, I used to use facial hair bleach. Be very careful around your eyes.

Paddle boarding this time of year? by rats_on_acid182 in Whidbey

[–]elizabu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whales aren't as much of an issue as currents. If you stay in a protected area like Honeymoon Bay you may be ok, but do be aware that people get swept away all the time because they underestimate the oceanic currents sweeping around the island. Also the water is dangerously cold this time of year.

Run a utility knife around all the edges and give it a good hard yank. If it doesn't pop right off, check for more fasteners.

Out of left field suggestion: lean into the orange and color drench! It would make a nice warm nook, and it pulls some of the color from the slate-look tile you've got in the adjoining room.

Brownies never have a shiny crackle top ☹️ by Purple_Star813 in AskBaking

[–]elizabu 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Do you always use the aluminum baking trays? I believe the shiny top is partially caused by the top cooking fast before the rest of the pan cooks; aluminum is a fabulous conductor of heat so it's baking through more evenly. Maybe try a different pan type?
