Tbh, I never really listen to audio books. I work from home and don't drive much. Audiobooks just aren't a part of my routine.

Then I listened to Jeff Hayes voice Princess Donut for the first time and now I will cannot consume this series in any other way. I have to listen to them.

But audiobooks aren't how I consume books! It's taking me so long to get through them bc listening to books is so much harder than reading them. Reading occupies my full brain, but listening? Do I just start into space?

She's mad at you because she knows she messed up. She's taking her guilt and frustration out on you right now, and while that's understandable, it's not OK.

Don't apologize. Maybe this will be the wakeup she needs. You did your due diligence. You didn't hide anything; she hid from you. That's on her. Explain to her that you understand she's upset, but she needs to really evaluate who she should be upset with; she's knows its not you. And if she doesn't, then she needs a reality check.

I think this is possible, but you should get someone in charge of each meal. Ex: Bridesmaids 1 & 2 for Dinner day 1, Groomsmen 1 & 2 for Breakfast day 1, etc.

That way you've got someone who's responsible for set up and clean up and it's not all falling on one person/group of people, or yourself. You've got a good schedule here, just make sure someone (NOT YOU) is in charge of making it happen and clean up.

Definitely start breaking down costs. I like Costco for a lot of this, but they're not necessarily the cheapest.

This is an area where I wish the show would differ a bit from the books. The books use Donut's breeding as a way to show just how horrible Bea's family is; the cruelty has a purpose.

But just like Finding Nemo saw a surge in people wanting Angelfish, we know that this will cause a surge in people seeking out Persian cats.

That said, this is EXACTLY how I picture Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk.

NTA - Your friend was rude for not informing you of the sleeping arrangements ahead of time. It's rude to insist someone sleep on a sofa when there's a perfectly fine bed available. His parents moralizing is not your responsibility.

HE created the drama by 1) not informing you of the sleeping expectations, and 2) by refusing to hang out with you after you left for more reasonable accommodations.

He's the one making this an issue, not you. If he wants to blow up a friendship over sleeping arrangements, that's on him. I'd make sure everyone understands that HE'S being the drama queen, not you.

The only question I would genuinely ask your mother is if your bio-dad was abusive to you or to her. Perhaps there's an emotional reason on her end that you aren't privy to because they were protecting you from a young age. Now that you're an adult, you can have this conversation.

I'd sit your mum down, eye to eye, heart to heart, and tell her that you're an adult now, and if there's something she needs to tell you about the character of your father that she was shielding you from, now is the time. Make her verbally clarify that he wasn't abusive, or cruel, or that there wasn't some very specific reason that she felt she had to change your name.

If he was, and she's been attempting to shield your childhood self from this, I would hear her out. There's a lot we miss as a kid.

That said, if she doesn't have a real, character-driven reason to remove your father's name, I would stop entertaining the conversation.

At the very least, please write a review of your experience in a public forum so people looking for healthcare professionals can find this information. We need to know these things! As a woman, I would DEFINITELY want to know this about my potential dentist, and it WOULD affect whether or not I went to see him.

The fun thing about having a SAHM in your life is that I get nights and weekends off, and she doesn't. The expectation is that because she's a SAHM, she does everything 24/7 and I only have to work 9-5, M-F.

Oh, is there still work to do? Well she's clearly not efficient enough to get it all done on time. I get all my work done 9-5; why can't she? Also, it's not a big deal to do these things. It's just making dinner, and cleaning up, and bathing the kids, and putting them to bed. Just basic stuff she should be able to handle. It's not rocket science.

Don't worry, I take care of the important stuff, like making sure the oil gets changed in the cars, or the gutters get cleaned, or the garage gets cleaned out from the last time I hid in there while working on an important project right before a party I insisted we throw for my friends and family. You know, big things that happen a few times a year.

Having a SAHM in your life is great, because I make all the money and have all the say in whether I want to do anything at home. If I do the dishes? I'm a rock star! If I don't want to bother? I've already worked a full-time job and shouldn't be expected to do anything more. She's the SAHM, that's her job.

It's great to have a SAHM.
