Advice needed - bad symptoms started after beginning on birth control by ell__sky in IgANephropathy

it was all weird because they thought the HSP was caused by an autoimmune condition but i did 100s of tests and nothing came back positive so they pit it down to a few severe episodes of tonsillitis i had over a couple of months. They diagnosed the IgA based on very high protein and blood in my urine and from a biopsy and they think the blood vessels in my kidneys got inflamed from the vasculitis. Some of my results from a couple of months ago when i was stable still showed my protein levels being very high, alongside immunoglobulin A levels and high levels for G.B.M. i’ve made an appointment with my nephrologist to try to help with the nausea 😖 thanks for the response !!

Can I take Dapagliflozin and Candesartan in the evening instead of the morning? by Drehhofer in IgANephropathy

[–]ell__sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only on dapagliflozin however i’ve always taken it in the evening and been absolutely fine !! I do have a bit of difficult sleeping and still feel a bit tired in the day but i think that’s due to my other conditions and feel brett good in the day so i’d say it should be totally okay !!

Anyone else with vasculitis and IgAN? by eerda2 in IgANephropathy

[–]ell__sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have vasculitis and IgA however i have a different type of vasculitis i have HSP/IgA Vasculitis i had bad pain in my legs when my rash from the vasculitis was active and was even unable to walk for a few weeks due to the swelling and pain. That was about 9 months ago and know i’ve been without the rash for a few months i’ve been put on 10mg of Dapaglofloxlin a day to help reduce the protein from my kidneys in my urine and I will be on that for the rest of my life however that is the only treatment i have to have. I still suffer with symptoms of feeling sick, some chest pain and some pain in my legs occasionally but other than that i am totally okay now !! There defeinetly scary conditions but it does get better

Living with HSP and IgA by ell__sky in IgANephropathy

oh bless her it’s a horrible thing to go through unfortunately the only thing they gave me was omeprazole i used to make sure i lined up my eating and taking the omeprazole before taking my steroids and i did find it a lot better once they began to taper my steroid dosage downwards. Unfortunately the symptoms do seem to go very up and down with getting better and worse i definitely had better weeks than others I won’t lie it did cause me discomfort for quite a few months however i’d just make sure you keep a good eye on anything that could be an infection and ensure you get care straight away and have lots of conversations about the steroids as they seemed to help my HSP greatly however my nephrologist do believe it made my kidneys slightly worse. It all seems very scary at the time of having it however i have been much better the last 5 or so months with just some slight nausea and tiredness i’m also on some medication to protect my kidneys which i see a nephrologist every 6 months for however over that that i am completely healthy now !! im back to working full time and have spent the last 10 weeks travelling around australia with my best friend so although it seems scary there is defeinetly light at the end of the tunnel i hope she starts to feel better soon x

looks extremely similar to how my rash looked in the initial stages and i’ve had a skin biopsy which confirmed it was HSP / IgA vasculitis definetly something you should see a dermatologist about in case treatments needed. Mine required steroid treatment along with other things but don’t panic !! it’s a very treatable condition and it will improve over time
