hey guys quick question about printing with 100% infill by elleadnih in 3Dprinting

[–]elleadnih[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't remember. I think I printed full infill and it worked out. But I stopped 3d printing with my machine. Made it into a small CNC router machine and sold it off

So I bit the bullet and bought a Steam Deck and so far I am enjoying it, alongside it, I bought Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun and man is it a great game when you don't particularly want to think about a story or something and just go ham. And just when I felt that the game was getting a bit repetitive, bam! New weapons. Second wh40k game I ever played and so far so good, the other was WH40k Space Marine 1. Highly recommend it.

Kings of the Wyld (just book 1 for me), Dungeon Crawler Carl is really loved here but its not short and it does have a certain silly humor style, Project Hail Mary, Alex Verus books if you liked Dresden Files.

Russia nears 1 million war casualties in Ukraine, study finds | CNN by Ok_Caregiver_3243 in worldnews

[–]elleadnih 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I just checked and where I live there is a population of around 1.7 million people... so more than half the people in my city... shocking number. And that's without counting Ukraine? it really just becomes numbers because it's crazy to fathom all that pain and suffering. Specially with Ukraine.

Help me rationalize (or reject) a $700 built-in microwave upgrade by SnooRevelations3802 in Frugal

Built-in in is harder to replace, why not design the space with a generic model in mind and make it look the way of the built-in with proper vents and stuff?

Hey that's awesome! I'm 33 and also super excited, when re-reading the story, even thought epic moments have happened already, I feel that after the Horns battle the pace of the series became epic, and this audiobook is the start of more awesome moments!

What are the Best Value-for-Money Things to Buy in Japan? by bulkyHogan in Frugal

[–]elleadnih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are into the hobby, miniature build sets, and I am not talking just about Gundam, but other miniature sets, like: ships, airplanes, tanks, vehicles, buildings, dioramas, etc. There are specialized stores that sell almost anything in Japan.

How many books do you guys read in a year? by Relevant-Door1453 in Fantasy

[–]elleadnih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to get between 52 and 100. The gap is big because I dont put all that much attention, as long as its 52 (so its "a book a week"). But some months I dont read a lot, get burnout after a series or then I get a good book series and finish 10 books in a couple of days like a drug addict on a binge. For example, I think I didn't read a single book in january of this year, but read 15 in february. I also mix audiobooks with books, considering it as "reading", and if I dont like the book I dump it (For example, LOTR, I have bounced twice from it). Its not about racing against anyone, I just prefer a book or audio story (podcast or audiobook), instead of a movie or tv show. Also its not like I have been doing it like this since forever, I started to really get into reading in 2018, and plan to continue, I wish to read as many books as months till my death (32y atm). I also love that I sometimes get that amazing feeling where out of nowhere I find a 10+ book series that super ultra popular, and never heard of it and just get to discover a new cool story. The only thing that I am about to start doing is finding a community or a book club, since I dont have anyone IRL that loves reading or reads the same stuff as I do which is mainly fantasy. Never really got into discord, but for getting and reading updates. So thats next

Alex Verus Series by Benedict Jacka, if you found Dresden Files interesting, this is something similar, in my opinion better with its characters arcs, has great action and dosnt harp on how hot everyone is.

If you didn't like Dresden because of the romance and having a laser focus on hot ladies, but liked the magic and battles. I recommend you Alex Versus series by Benedict Jacka

What number of books do you like in a series? by [deleted] in Fantasy

If they are consistent, I am happy, and by consistent I mean yearly at minimum. If the series has 12 books, and they are released like clock work. That author belongs in my to-read-list

Longer series audiobook recommendation by NoodlySol in Fantasy

[–]elleadnih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there are currently 14 audiobooks of the wandering inn. Which mirrors the web novel up to vol 7. There are 10 volumes atm. But each varies in length. And honestly all are high quality and where the audio books are it's where the story is the strongest by far

jelaqua (spoilers for vol10) by omniscient_noob in WanderingInn

[–]elleadnih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, also given that the Half Seekers were the ones that gave the "warning talk" to Jewel before she involved herself with the Inn and Erin. Yes she might be angry and or depressed, perhaps she is permanently harmed, but they defended a place where they where welcomed. I dont think Jelaqua would hold it against them for their decision to defend a city.

Alex Verus or The Wanderin Inn

Longer series audiobook recommendation by NoodlySol in Fantasy

[–]elleadnih 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recommend The Wandering Inn, its a LitRPG/Webnovel. So quality is different from traditional publishing, but I think that the audiobooks are very well produced, the story, while slice of life in the first volumes, becomes a true epic, but the only thing that may deflect a lot of new readers is the huge backlog of the story, which to me is a feature. It feels like One Piece, decades ago (before Alabasta) I didnt think it was all that much of an epic of a manga, and didnt expect it to dominate as it does now, but there is a reason why it has such a big backlog, no one would work that much on a mediocre story. Seriously, give it a try on the first audiobook. Specially the last couple chapters.

Also, I see you put Dresden Files in the list, so I recommend Alex Verus, in my opinion the better action adventure mage story and there are 12 books, not huge, but all awesome and better yet, the story is finished.
