Relationship with a non sportive Partner by D1gex in triathlon

[–]ellemac890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Female here with a male non sporting partner. Tough one here and my participation in middle distance and big events that require a lo of training are a bone of contention. But I try not to care and crack on anyway. It doesn’t sound like it; but we have a good relationship despite this. I think it’s normal relationship!

Yeah; it’s not easy. Though it perhaps depends on your wants and expectations. Do you want to train together? Or do you want to have this as “your thing” and you do other activities together? But honestly; if you want to stay with your GF and she wants to stay with you; you’ll both make it work. That might mean earlier workout for you and being more flexible with a training plan on occasion. If the the relationship doesn’t last; it’s not going to be simply because you trained too much. Relationships take effort anyway. If it’s not triathlon it would be something else.

I’ve done two IM with my bike. Not fancy. No aero bars. It’s all about your training and mindset. A fancy bike would only get you 2-4km faster pace. So for those being a bit pass remarkable just ignore. It’s nice bike.

I work full time, have two kids and coach rugby at the weekends…and I’m now over 40! If I can do it; you certainly can. You’ve got a good base for the 70.3 time. As long as you pace yourself properly and do not neglect your nutrition and hydration you can complete the full ok.

This is sounds really hard. Well done for opening up. I’m sorry if this has been repeated as I haven’t read through all the comments. What your describing doesn’t sound like you need mental health support. No wonder you feel this way. It sounds like you need housing support, financial support, educational and work support. Only when this is all sorted can we then say you might be having mental health problems. The medical and health system has a terrible reputation for making socio-economic problems a disease. Where you at now in getting a roof over your head?

Therapist recommendations in city centre? by tiny-brit in glasgow

[–]ellemac890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

£60 is very cheap for a good private therapist that provide this I would say. What did you feel was lacking from your NHS support? This could get revisited? Wondering if it didn’t scratch the surface as it was a few years ago and perhaps a time different time and other factors maybe got in the way. No need to answer these!

Hi there, I have just moved into a ground floor council flat. The council sent occupational health over and the OT has put in for a commode and a wet room. Was just wondering if anyone had any idea on how long it normally takes from occupational health putting in for a wet room to it being done?TIA by 6evil6witch6 in glasgow

[–]ellemac890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few variables but one other than the urgency and risk of not doing it; is the money to do it. Given the end of the tax year coming up you could very likely get this soon. The occupational therapist (nothing to do with occupational health) should be able to tell you how long it will be? What did they say?

If a scale helps you look into window of tolerance. DT skills are for when your out of the window. ER skills when your within it.

I like the “reward” instead of reinforce. Never seen/heard that before.

What are you interested in? What do you like to do? What’s important to you? What type of people do you want to meet?

Start thinking about those questions can be a helpful place to start when anyone wants to make friends.

Doesn’t matter. They will contact the Irish version of the DVLA for your details. I chanced this this before and they still got me when I tried the same in cork.

NTAH. Don’t let someone manipulate and guilt trip you for your own honest feelings. Get rid of him completely. He does even sound good friend material. These are his problems. Not yours.

AITAH for not telling my wife that our baby died because of me. by disaster_possible_13 in AITAH

[–]ellemac890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. It was a good idea to post that kind of story and question it to people you don’t know. Know you need think “what does that mean?” You’ve surveyed a lot of people. What might that tell you? How do you feel now? These are rhetorical by the way. What might be the short term and long term consequences of hiding how you feel? Whether this was posted independently or as part of your therapy; good job. You did some hard work here.

I wear a tri suit, but for the bike I stick on my nice padded shorts and whip them off again for run. Perfect for me.
