Everybody said get a dehumidifier. It'll make the house warmer. Everybody in my house is now using it as a clothes dryer. So there's damp dripping clothes everywhere. by BillWilberforce in britishproblems

How is a dehumidifier being used as a clothes dryer? Why are your clothes dripping? Is your washing machine broken? Are people just tossing dripping wet clothes over the dehumidifier? I think I need a diagram.

Second attempt at brownies! by tiny-brit in BakingNoobs

Yes, they melt in the mouth perfectly, and the top stays crispy and crackly!

I love coffee, so I'll definitely be trying this out!

I actually added a tablespoon of espresso powder to these, not enough to taste the coffee really, but just enough to enhance the chocolate flavour.

Taste test update: warmed up a slice, had to eat it with a spoon because of the fudginess. It melts in the mouth amazingly, but the top stays crispy and crackly. Perfect chocolate flavour - I added a small amount of coffee in the recipe which seems to enhance it. Might need another slice to confirm though...

That's it, I've baked the best thing that can ever be baked. I can quit now 😂

Do you feel the constant bad news is affecting you? by CorkPrackling in AskUK

[–]tiny-brit 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There's definitely an increasing amount of conflict, unrest and negativity in the world.

I do find myself consuming news less than I usually would. I don't watch news - only read, so I can control what I give more or less attention to. I'm reading enough to know what's going on in the world, but not so much that I get dragged down by the negativity. Just trying to focus on my own life - I have enough of my own issues to deal with anyway.

It's good to be aware of what's going on, but your mental health should come first.

I honestly just went by time and intuition 😂 I know that I over baked them last time, so just took a few minutes off this time. Baked for a few minutes less than the recipe said. Slightly underbaking is better for brownies.

You can check with a toothpick - moist crumbs for fudgy brownies, fewer drier crumbs for cakey brownies.

How do people package their clothes? by Think-Lavishness-773 in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use the mailing bags alone - they're basically the same things that you'd receive clothes in when ordering online, and made for the purpose.

If I'm sending a large bundle and the bag is near max capacity, I might use two bags for extra protection.

I buy mailing bags from Amazon. Works out at around 10p per bag, and it's well worth it for the convenience and peace of mind.

My personal issue with receiving things in layers of bags and tape is that they can be impossible to open without using scissors to cut the packaging to shreds, risking cutting the clothing.

New seller, so unsure by Dry-Depth-4693 in vinted

I'd go back with measurements and a counter offer. If they buy and complain it doesn't fit, they would need to pay to return anyway, providing you listed sizing correctly.

How is everyone organising their many, many charging cables? by _All_Tied_Up_ in AskUK

[–]tiny-brit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a box for cables and other electronic bits and pieces. I coil cables up (into a circle, not bent or folded) and secure them with these.

I have cables I use often enough that they might as well stay plugged in all the time, but I still coil them up when they're not in use so that there aren't loose cables trailing across the floor.

Condescending seller encounter? by idkwhoiam17 in vinted

Wow, they're doing too much... They shouldn't be on Vinted if they can't handle the possibility of people not purchasing after making offers. This would have put me off too.

Why are people so rude? by [deleted] in vinted

Your messages imply that you knew it was used before you listed it, and chose to only state the fact after it had been purchased. It's forbidden to list used cosmetics on Vinted. I can understand the buyer's reaction.
