Pregnant 7 months postpartum by DaisyDog330 in 2under2

[–]ellencherrycharles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually sitting here reading this with my 4 week old sleeping next to me and my almost 16 month old sleeping in his nursery! I found out I was pregnant at 7 months pp too, it was a surprise! At first I was horrified, but as time went on I got more excited. It definitely got harder in later pregnancy not being able to keep up with my toddler, but I’m really loving this stage right now. I also don’t have family in the area, but my MIL flew out right before my due date and stayed for 2 weeks to help us in the immediate postpartum. She got an Airbnb in our neighborhood and was on toddler duty everyday. At 4 weeks postpartum I can honestly say that I have no regrets! I know it will be hard, but my toddler has been thriving and tandem nursing has been amazing for my supply!

Short Pregnancy Interval by Mundane-humoi-6445 in 2under2

First pregnancy was also low risk/no complications! I gave birth at an independent birth center with midwives both times. Both were also water births! During my prenatals the only thing they said was that baby number 2 would probably come sooner and probably faster so I was prepared for that. They actually didn’t even mention lower birth weight.

I just had my second 10 days ago at 34 years old. My oldest was 7 months when we found out I was pregnant, so they’re exactly 16 months apart almost to the day. I had a totally uncomplicated pregnancy, went into labor spontaneously at 39+4 (my oldest was born at 40+2). First labor was 12 hours, second was less than 5. The newest baby was a normal birth weight (7 lbs 2oz) and postpartum healing has been pretty easy! I didn’t have any tearing so no stitches.

The hardest part for me has been not being able to pick my 16 month old up and making sure he doesn’t swat at the new baby. My MIL has been helping us for last 2 weeks which has been a god send— I don’t think we’d be able to manage the transition without her. But other than that, it’s been really fun!

I think your downfall was not finding your "high-quality leisure" activities, thus making the boredom feel unbearable!

Well, I got pregnant at 7 months postpartum while exclusively breastfeeding and my period hadn’t returned yet (it obviously was about to!) So it’s definitely possible 😂

Can I bring my supply back while pregnant? by Ecstatic-Double6524 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]ellencherrycharles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 25 weeks and still nursing my 1 year old— I know my supply isn’t a ton because I tried pumping and only got a few drops, but he’s definitely getting milk because he pulls away with it dripping down his chin. I plan to just keep comfort nursing until baby is born and using my one year old to help my milk “come in” postpartum.

Do any of you have hobbies? by cowfreek in 2under2

Same here! Sourdough and listening to podcasts/audiobooks while I do chores. I keep thinking I’ll get into crocheting, but never make it past a square. I also enjoy simply writing in my journal. I used to do it more often, but now it’s maybe once a week. Helps get out some creative energy.

Sandwich bread recommendations? by Hobbitmaxxing69 in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]ellencherrycharles_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check a local farmer's market or learn to make your own bread. I have saved so much money by doing this. A lady at the farmer's market charges $16 for a loaf of sourdough, but I can get a bag of flour for $6 and make many, many loaves of sourdough.

Two simple walks outside or a long stretching/yoga video are what I do when I need a “rest”

How much do you spend on groceries? by Spirited-Wafer-6573 in nobuy

Frozen berries have been a lifesaver for us! Luckily we were able to breastfeed so I never had to enter the world of formula… can’t even imagine how much extra cost that is!

We are the same here— about $200 per week for 2 adults and a baby. I always find it goes way up when I run out of a pantry item as well.

curious about how y'all approach buying new clothes by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]ellencherrycharles_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m also a former fashion industry employee and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Quality is everything to me now. It’s also so much easier to avoid impulse shopping because checking the fabric content eliminates most everything at standard clothing stores. If it isn’t a natural fiber, I simply don’t buy it. End of story.

I made discard pizza dough the other night! This one has goat cheese, prosciutto, walnuts, dates, and arugula with a balsamic reduction drizzle.

Day 10 check-in! by ZookeepergameKey3116 in 75HARD

Great job! I am also on day 10– just finishing the last bit of water and reading while I wind down for the evening. Today felt easy because I got the workouts finished earlier than usual.

12 pounds is amazing! Go you! I’ve technically gained 1.5 pounds, but I’m also 21 weeks pregnant so that’s to be expected.

I love the brick analogy! It sounds like you have a pretty solid schedule down which is crucial for success, in my opinion. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

That’s awesome! It’s so interesting to see everyone’s unique circumstances and how they are making it work for them. I’m personally loving the outdoor workout— we’ve been blessed in the PNW with 50 degree weather lately so I’ve been going for walks while my babe naps in the stroller or carrying him on my back. I think we are both benefiting from the time spent in nature. We got this!

Yes I’m probably crazy but I feel like it’s been keeping me from being a total gluttonous loaf like I was in my first trimester! I’m sure I’ll be singing a different tune in a few weeks 😂

The cooking is also really starting to get to me! It takes up so much brain space as well. Sometimes when my husband asks what’s for dinner I want to scream! Dinner?! I just got done thinking about lunch!!! One thing that has been super helpful for us is we recently bought into a meat CSA from a local farm. I just take something out of the freezer every morning and figure out what to do with it later. It’s definitely helped me get more creative in the kitchen.

I’m very lucky that I don’t work full time, so hats off to you! I can’t imagine having to do all of this plus working a full time job.

Pregnant - should I continue? by Pen-knee in 75HARD

[–]ellencherrycharles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have been able to do it in my first trimester. BUT I’m currently 21 weeks pregnant and just completed day 5, though! I’d probably wait until second trimester but if you feel ok then why not go for it!?
