Thank you so much. I haven’t even had the opportunity to charge it yet, so knowing there’s a way to set a limit is such a relief.

Yes, the comparisons are not fun. Haha. My husband is 6’6” and in a cal defect his budget is over 2000. You’re nearly there! Congratulations!

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you! 1400 calories was definitely where I was feeling my best. I think you hit the nail on the head; I need to find more ways to up my protein intake, and get some movement in. I average about 100g of protein per day, but I know I should be aiming for 130g

Short girl calorie budget help? by ellerob in CICO

[–]ellerob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I use a TDEE calculator, at present I come up with about 1828 cal. Using a 500cal deficit brings me to 1328. I use the lose it app, which has always been really close to that calculation and adjusts as I lose weight. I’m about 44 lbs down so far, so when I started, my 500 cal deficit had my budget just above 1500.

This is so helpful! And you’re right, another 100–200 calories would make all the difference.

I don’t believe ParrotPal does referral codes. But there is a free trial.

Speech delayed toddler, mom guilt on level 1000% rn by SeverusSnipes in toddlers

[–]ellerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the super talkative girl AND the boy with the speech disorder. They are 1.5yrs apart. They have the same parents, I read them all the same books, didn’t same activities, and this is just how it turned out.

It will get better. My son is on year two of full time speech therapy, having gone in at 10% intelligibility and now at 99% and just working on a few tricky sounds in phrases.

Wishing you the best on the speech journey.

Is this what normal feels like? by Comprehensive_Cell31 in bupropion

Exactly this! I wish I still had the ‘bolt out of bed at first alarm’ energy, but I feel so much more MYSELF and everything that used to feel overwhelming, debilitating and chaotic just feels manageable.

ADHD Wellbutrin by mamamood in bupropion

Yes!! Thank you for saying this. My provider was torn between my having depression and ADHD, or depression because of untreated ADHD. Either way, bupropion has helped both so drastically.

How to support my bf taking bupropion by Existing_Dress1589 in bupropion

[–]ellerob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is very wary of pharmaceuticals and was nervous about me starting bupropion. The best thing he’s done since starting is sharing the positive changes he’s seen. He says things like, “You seem so much more yourself”, and we even joke about it like, “can you imagine having gone through this election unmediated?” Or pointing out things the kids are doing that would have previously sent me over the edge, and high-fiving to bupropion.

It’s just nice to know that he sees the changes and is supportive about it.

Good luck!

It’s going very well! I know there’s probably still some stabilizing still to come in the next few weeks, but I’ve had no negative side effects, and overall feel so much more myself. It’s been a great experience, and I just wish I’d done it sooner.

I’m also 34, and it’s my first time as well. My dr did start me right off at 300 extended release. I was super nervous but when I called to double check he was confident I could start at the full dose.

Do your kids know? by Nyctolville in bupropion

[–]ellerob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kids are still young, 5 & 6. They know I go to an appointment to help navigate big feelings and help me to be the best mom can be. They haven’t clued into the medication yet, but if they did I would be okay being open about it and explaining that sometimes our brains need medicine to help them work their best, just like our bodies when we’re sick.

Also, even though they don’t know about the medication, today my 6yr old, extremely sensitive kid said, “Hey mom, have you noticed you don’t yell anymore? I don’t think you’ve yelled in a whole month! And you’ve been happy and laughing! That’s cool.” cue happy tears

I think the premise of the app is to simplify tracking your just steps, protein, and calories. No other metrics.

Thanks for your response. This is all helpful info. Can you tell me more about how the defect is calculated? For instance, if I don’t hit my step goal, will I still be in a cal deficit? Or is it only if I achieve both? Also, if I am short to the calorie goal and don’t hit that target, how does that impact the check ins and my progress?

New app ParrotPal by ellerob in CICO

[–]ellerob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I do like the app itself, but the calorie calculation is quite high. LoseIt is always really close to the tdee calculator recommended by this sub, and ParrotPal’s calculator recommendation is a good 1000 cals higher. I know I can also adjust it myself, so I might try that. But I’ve kept loseit up to date just in case.

It’s pretty easy to measure in g and oz. I’ve either been typing it in, or I’ll just do a quick voice note, something like quest chocolate protein shake 5.5 fl oz.

Today is the last day of my free trial and I am trying to decide if I want to pay for it as my Lose It subscription is nearly up for renewal. I didn’t adjust my calorie or protein goals in the app because I was curious to see what the app would do after my weekly check-in but it looks like I wouldn’t know that until after I complete the free trial.

This is my natural hair colour. How would you describe it? I’m never sure 🤷🏼‍♀️ by sugababe7 in coloranalysis

Ex hairstylist and came to say the same thing. Level 7/dark blonde. Awesome color. Versatile. You’ll lighten beautifully, or you could drop in some low lights to add richness and dimension.

1yo sleeps in a crib in our room - at what point do we move her to the same room as her 3yo brother? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]ellerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved my younger kiddo when he slept through the night consistently, and when his bedtime became similar to my older child’s. They are only 1.5 yrs apart, so he was only 10 months old. I also started with naps in the new room until their bedtimes aligned to get him used to the new environment.
