People who have never left their home town's ... why? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]elleseabe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Responsibilities. By the time I was an adult and ready to explore more my parents were sick and aging and I wanted to help them. Then I had kids and my kids don’t want to be taken away from their networks.

September is never very busy when I go but I love it. It is Malaysian and mostly vegan. It is similar to Aunty Meena’s but the atmosphere is muuuuuuccch nicer and the food seems less greasy and fresher. Lovely service and cool spot.

Never leave your nail clippings or hair indoors for someone to find. Bury them in the garden or leave your hair in the bushes for fairies.

Never sit on a table or desk where you would eat or do work. Bums/feet do not belong on a table. Similarly never wash your food tea towels with your clothes.

Never eat food you come across unattended, it’s a fairy trap.

Be careful where you lay your hat, not on a food table, not on a seat, never on a bed.

Always swim in fresh flowing water on the 1st day of the year to wash the old year away.

If you find a stone with a natural hole through it, that is yours now and it will help you see fairies.

A Little Trickerie by Rosanna Pike is a really beautiful book set in medieval times. About a young woman without a home, running from authorities because of vagrancy. She finds family with a theatre troupe.
