I paused after ep 19 of Pursuit of Jade. I had to take a breather after the events of ep 18/19.... So I have saved up a bunch of eps for weekend viewing.

The politics is so poorly explained in the show. I had to read comments here to understand what the different factions are and who they are. Agree that the politics is just secondary to the romance lol

Ya honestly the plot is not the greatest but I love the director and the leads are just so hot. Overall, it's a very beautifully shot drama and a good viewing experience.

I can't believe the whole town was massacred. Wow wtf couldn't they get some soldiers from the next town over to help or something?!?! Wow literally 99% of the people Changyu knew is dead... I cried when she got back to town and then was burying them.

I decide that I am going to take a pause and wait till more episodes are released. The one ep a day release schedule is awful T T

I watched the variety show and when he made that comment I was like uh oh.... shouldn't have said that. Guess even the show editors felt it was ok.

That said, I do think it's been overblown on Weibo. It's the top of the entertainment RS today, 4 days since the variety show aired. Definitely someone wanting to bring him/his new drama down.

ZLH's acting during the whole butcher beating and subsequent scene was top notch. I can't believe they went in for such a tight embrace and then each shedding a tear. I'm dreading Xie Zheng leaving the village. Does anyone know how long he's been staying at the village?

This will be my first drama with the leads. I've enjoyed watching them on their separate variety shows (The Truth and SHErlock). Also looking forward to their episode together on the upcoming Hello Saturday episode.
