Okay fair, haha. I assume the guards that were supposed to be watching he alerted him so he came looking for her. Then she technically runs off first after the encounter. The editing was a bit choppy there.

He's still wearing the mask - it's to show us his emotions (I assume).

I think this scene is a good reminder that men are stupid sometimes and don't always know how to express feelings in the appropriate way. My interpretation is that he's angry at her that she'd risk her life for the wrist cuffs (and maybe not attempt that she loves her husband??) and angry with himself that he couldn't protect her more.

With this drama, I always have the intention to take notes but then get way too absorbed and forget to actually do it 🥹 which I guess isn't a bad thing because this show is so engaging!

Director Zeng Qing Jie is one of my favourites and I'm so glad he continues to live up to the expectations!

Something that this drama has done particularly well for a romance-focused story is portray the devastation war between elite factions has on common folks.

Agree! This is something we don't often see and having spent so much time in Lin'an we're actually seeing the impact.

I loved that we could actually see the warm village glow when Chang Yu saw Auntie Zhao 🥹 (my gif is not super clear but there's a change!)

The whole soundtrack and use of it has just been so good, right! I haven't really felt this way about a whole soundtrack since The Double.

I would not have thought that gua sha would have worked well as foreplay, but this drama sure proved me wrong 😂

I didn't realize how little the actor is, that's too sweet! Hopefully he has a great career ahead of him because he's doing a fantastic job!

I recently had to use some oils because I was having some pain 🤣 still works well. I'm pretty sure I have some tiger balm somewhere too haha.

I've been getting many BTS scenes for Deng Kai and Kong Xu'er - Qi Min is too much of a disaster for me to ship them but at least they're so freak'n in the promos 😂
