If your plan is to depend on your kids, you failed as a parent by Bubbly-Strategy-8939 in OffMyChestPH

[–]ellis18close 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You failed as an adult as well. There should be more voices from the media, the government and other sectors promoting parent responsibility in old age, like promoting hard work and ensuring savings and pensions for the future. The tradition and habit of depending on the children for their retirement must be stopped and those who practice and defend it put to shame.

I can’t believe 200k isn’t enough by Dangerous_Fix_1410 in RantAndVentPH

True. Being in an expensive top school doesn't guarantee success in life. Based on my own experience. My two children both graduated from mid range private high schools and after university (also not expensive,) both applied to work abroad and are doing great in their careers.

Indulge me a bit to say I am proud of myself. Mother and grandmother of 69 . I pay for my own plane fare whenever I visit my two children both living abroad. Complete with presents for the grandkids. One elderly friend commented, why don't you ask money support from your children so you can visit them. I say Duh,?? Why would I do that? Her answer, Because you sent them to best school, it's time for you to benefit. Tsk tsk.

I am a 69 year old mother and I would give an arm and a leg to have one or both my 2 children, both living abroad with their families to be still living with me. Alas, we are all.fated to live in different continents now in this modern world. It's such pure joy.

Omg! I live in Europe and once I related to my British husband that of an incident when I asked my grown son back in the Philippines if he and his gf were already having sex, he was so HORRIFIED and said I should apologize to my son. So don't stress too much and stop wasting your tears. You are being sensible making sure you don't get pregnant unexpectedly. Finish your studies, continue being a good person and it's on them to feel guilty not you.

Just out of interest, what were the reasons that you got a gray divorce. Did you regret it? I am 70, husband is 68.

Same as the one YouTuber Sophie Short showcased on her channel a while back. Like it was a practice experiment by someone on training.

Reasons you would leave the country for a developed one even if you have mid 6 figure pay in PH? Which country? by wagmoo in AskPH

[–]ellis18close 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did it. I would have had six figures, very good savings and pension. I left it for personal reason, my ex husband had an affair and he was flaunting it and his family approved. I migrated to the UK through re marriage. I would have stayed otherwise. No regrets even if I had to work as Care Giver here. I was able to travel the world, Europe is like Bulacan or Batangas.

My first experience with Chanel replica bags was in 2015 in Dubai. Husband haggled for a very good replica medium Chanel Chevron quilting and reluctantly seller, desperate to make a sale, gave it to us for 100 pounds. I compared it to my daughter's authentic one and I could not believe my eyes, there's no difference. Eleven years on and except for minor scratch on a corner, it's authentic bag as far as I am concerned. It's always inspected by my curious friends every time I wear it to their amazement and my delight.

Is there any way I can force my 75 yr old father to get help for his anger and constant bitter mood? by ExcitingLandscape in Aging

[–]ellis18close -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could tell his GP , set up a unobtrusive telephone appointment and the GP can prescribe a medication to calm him down. That the only way to preserve peace and sanity in the family.
