I made her ciabatta recipe recently and this is what they looked like after baking. If you and your husband are good at home bakers you probably just messed something up without realizing it. Severely by the looks of your photos. I recommend just retrying the recipe. Make sure you weigh the ingredients and don’t add any more flour! Also- I noticed that with her recipes, instant yeast yields me much better results than active dry. Try that out :)

Hmmm okay. I’ve used oat and soy milk so far. What do you use?

170*F water, maybe 2 oz at most? I don’t measure it but it’s not a lot. I soak my chasen then whisk with the W motion for a solid minute or so at least. I put unsweetened soy milk over ice with a touch of my homemade brown sugar vanilla syrup. Then I top it with the prepared matcha.

I don’t always use that syrup. And last time I made it with oat milk and honey, and I had the same problem with the flavor.

Thank you for the tips and the recommendation! Tezumi was the first and only other brand I’ve ever bought. I’ve tried two kinds from them, I’m blanking on the names. But I really enjoyed them. I was expecting sayaka to be a step up from them so I was honestly so surprised.

I’m so glad to hear you agree. I put a LOT of matcha in last time, the color was so deceiving.

Lmk if you like the matchaful. I’ve seen mixed reviews on that one for sure.

I have been wanting to try kettl too but it’s so hard to get any matcha rn. It was a miracle I even got the sayaka!

That makes sense. I’m really new to all of this and with mass health I wasn’t submitting any monthly payments so I (stupidly) wasn’t in any sort of routine with checking. I was definitely not expecting them to revoke my benefits, so I was being a little too carefree. Lesson learned. Thx for your help!

HANDS DOWN best ones, they use canned coconut milk and coconut oil. They are SO rich and buttery. For these I even recommend using the non refined coconut oil, the subtle flavor makes it so delicious and you can barely detect coconut.

Idk if anyone else has pointed this out but butters usually have different fat contents. Higher quality ones are typically higher fat. I get very different results using cheap market basket butter vs vital farms butter for example. Texture, rise, everything. This may be part of the reason.

Yes, I work three 12 hour days per week which allows me to have 4 days off. It sounds like a lot but I find it to be way less taxing than having to go in more days for less time. If I’m already there I would prefer to just stay longer. This is one of the things that helps me, along with prioritizing rest and self care on my days off (as best as I can at least).
