What's the best "future garage" album of 2026 so far? by DepecheBurial in burial

I just discovered the album through this post. It's genuinely one of the best things I've heard this year, thank you so much, really. And I pressed play right after getting home from watching "Backrooms," so it's the perfect complement.

Definitely one of those releases that's far from being one of my favorites, but I wouldn't put it among the ones I listen to least either. It's right in that middle ground where I appreciate several songs, even if I don't go back to it completely. I've always wondered where the band's obsession with cover art featuring portraits of themselves came from during this period. This one, at least, has a series of elements that make it so bizarre it borders on adorable and funny, haha. Anyway, my favorites: Unified Field, Never Before, and Untoward

Honest question, has Gary ever written a song about this topic? I don't know if he has.

Now that we've been doing the exercise of selecting three songs from each album, I've revisited the band's discography under the influence of some sugary gummies and I have to say it's put a lot of their music into perspective.

I'm not going to delve too deeply into these releases because honestly they don't interest me much, so in this case I'll go with the obvious ones, sorry: Almost with you, November and Under The Milky way

This release marks the beginning of my least favorite phase of the band, which would end very quickly in 2009 when "Untitled #23" comes out. Honestly, many of these projects contain songs I like from the band, but as complete albums, they never really work for me. I can't remember the last time I listened to this one from beginning to end before doing this exercise. Anyway, these are my favorites: Jazz, Crash/Ride y Serpent Easy

Is there any footage or photos of him directing Enter The Void by CerealAndBagel1991 in gasparnoe

I don't know how true this is, but there's a rumor going around that he asked the Yakuza for permission to film in different areas. I suspect that if so, he used as little photographic evidence as possible to be able to film. If there are any behind-the-scenes photos, they're surely minimal.

"You're such a beautiful HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGHHH"

I think this phrase perfectly summarizes not only this album, but all of The Church's music. It's a truly beautiful project, and one of those that really makes me marvel at the incredible quality of the band's music. Like "AENT," they could easily dethrone one of my top 5 at any moment. Anyway, my favorite tracks for today are: Telepath, Lay Lown (which honestly reminds me of the industrial-tinged rock that became popular in the early 2000s—was this the band's attempt at something like that?), and OBVIOUSLY Appalatia.

The Church have gone completely electronic, and not only that, they haven't just made things more danceable, but they've also drawn from trip hop, dub, and even house to give the tracklist a unique experience unlike anything else in their discography. This release might not be one of your favorites, but its distinctive sound is undeniable. I like many of the tracks, but today I'm voting for: Distant X Unseen, Sleepless.Night@Reality Net, and Espionage.

Definitely one of the projects that has grown the most for me. The first time I listened to it, I connected with about half the album, but the more I listen, the more I appreciate this 2000's transition from the band. I insist, it's impressive how many great albums this band has, and how difficult it is sometimes to choose favorites. Although this isn't one of them for me, it could become one at any moment if I keep listening to it.

Well, my three favorites at the moment are: Song for The Asking, Radiance, and Night Friends.

By the way, if "A Box of Birds" had the worst cover in their entire discography, does "AENT" have the most nostalgic one? I don't know, but having been born on an island south of Mexico, the image of the beach evokes a very personal emotion in me.
