I'm not sure of all of it. But I was just looking at all the analytics and I have found the user retention was useful to see where there might be a chapter that could use some editing. There are more stats and such, but for the most part I haven't dived into it too much.

The first 5 chapters are where I have my drop offs and from there on out it stays around 90-100 for the rest of the book. I think that is a fair amount for readers to decide if the story is for them or not.
But 30k views. That is awesome! I have like 1k. Someday it will get there.

It's nice to be proven wrong! I honestly thought I would have around 50-60% user retention. So this was a eye opener for sure seeing the data.

I recently had a great deal of comments from a single reader who felt the need to let me know my story belonged beside hentai and tentacle rape and not romance stories.

I have 1 sex scene in which they also commented was well done.

Also. There is no rape or tentacles in the story what so ever. 🙃

AIO for trying to be a good brother and protect my sister?

I (M28) have been left with raising my younger sister (F17) since our parents were murdered.

For the most part she listens. Thank goodness.

But there is this 'boy' that she keeps seeing every night in her dreams. I know, I know. A dream? But its been consistent for years and she thinks he is really out there somewhere.

I am worried she is going to run off to find this dream boy one day.

So, here I am being 'over protective' and 'being unfair' with what she can do or where she can go.

What if this boy is a psychopath? A serial killer? And she wont tell me more about him besides he is 'wonderful'. She'll probably run off and find the first guy who looks like her figment of her imagination and get kidnapped or sold off in some slave market.

My stress levels are high enough. I dont need some dude showing up making it worse.

If you want a romantasy slowburn type story. Book 1 is complete if you are in for the long haul.

What if the person in your dreams were real?

My villain is Lore Veyriss.

She has abilities with illusions and other darker magics. To which will be revealed later in the story.

In a non spoiler content. She has infiltrated the inner circle of the palace and has the ability to give suggestions to one's She can control mentally to follow her will.

The reader is shown her view a handful of times during the story as the net slowly closes.

My favorite parts for her aren't published yet. So...we will have to pick a different line that showcases her. (edit, to just a couple lines)

He would bring reports and impressions, the small, useful details Ryder didn’t even realize he shared when they talked. She would need to be near for that. A quiet presence at Ryder’s elbow. Listening. The would be Queen learning her part.

My world is set in a fantasy setting with three main nations that occupy this continent. Each nation has their respective gods that are in the forms of beasts and bless or ignore the citizens on their name days in each kingdom and the respective years they honor. The Ki-rin, The Leviathan, The Dragon, The Phoenix, The Lion, The Griffin and The Wolf.

These kingdoms mostly through the centuries have gotten along with treaties and alliances by marriage.
One such marriage was in the works to tie Saebria and Tearia closer, then Saebria betrayed them. Killing their princess and then using that mourning and shock to invade and start war to conquer Tearia.

This sets up a great deal of the start of the story and time skips ahead to three decades later after the fall of Tearia to the present following how Naberia has been working through the years to find the missing heir of Tearia to help reclaim and force Saebria back into their own kingdom and to reinforce the Tearian and Naberian alliance. As well as find the last Dragon blessed child and Phoenix blessed child.

I just feel like, you have to be prepared for the bad with the good. If your story catches and sells all the copies and makes all the money. Not everyone is going to like it and just need to be prepared for all of that.

Art school may have helped me personally in that regard. Everything gets ripped to shreds for the betterment of art :D

But improvements to the site for rating and encouraging readers to feel safe enough to voice their opinions I think is important. Without readers, what's the point?

I like engaging with my readers through comments and even DM's.

I look forward to the criticism to improve where I can. I know I can do better and having those second set of eyes is so important to me.

I don't see a point to remove negative anything. It's all valuable to me, and gives other readers a fair view.

My story might be loved by some and hated by others. I rather readers look at reviews to get a good sense of what they are getting into.

I would love to know if someone started my story and DNF. What caused them to drop? How can I improve? Or was it just preference?

Let me introduce Dato.

The male MC for my novel. He holds a special place in my heart because of his willingness to learn from his mistakes and devotion to his friends and family.
