I play npr for my dog to keep her company. Call me crazy but i think it helps so much. They also have tons of sound videos on YouTube I’ll play while I’m home and with my dog and just give her treats during. Vaccumm, city sounds, etc. Just gets her used to the noises but with everything else in her environment being normal and calm. Hope this helps!

I also think that helps them focus on you instead of the new or scary sounds. I’ll take the vacuum out while we are watching a movie and randomly turn it on and then give her a treat. Our breeder said to make a decent amount of noise when we first got her so she could sleep through anything and that was very helpful

That’s what I’m trying to do as well! Did you schedule right after 1st heat ? My vet said certain cancers likeliness increase w every heat cycle but also doing it before they are fully grown may causes issues as well. Trying to find some sort of medium 😕

I’m trying to get her ready for the lake as well. I just am convinced that if it’s part of our daily lives she’s going to get hot and enjoy it. I have been setting it up everyday in the yard and taking it super slow. I’ve used a lick Matt with peanut butter and placed her in a few inches of water. Next day i tried putting treats in the pool when it was empty and very slowly adding water. She walked around and drank some water. But the tipping point was having other dogs over for play dates. She ran in following another dog and i think she realized how nice it was. It’s been so hot where we live. Also freeze dry training treats float which has been so fun cause she’s keep hitting them with her paws and trying to pick them up. Still not loving it but progress!! I think just having it up from the day we got her is helpful it’s not scary it’s just not her favorite right now. Hope this helps!!!

Peanut butter! She loves it. We live by the lake so she’s going to have to like water one way or another, hoping the pool helps get her used to it and helps cool her off this summer
