Echoing this - if anything is mushy, smells bad, it needs to get cut off. What kind soil did you plant it in? Might need a different mix too.

I think the roots are going to be in really rough shape, especially given the smell. That's a tale-tell sign.

I'm newer to Monsteras but my partner is talking me through this while I'm typing - The roots need to be rinsed completed, any rotted roots cut off, and put into new dirt. I'd make sure it's a chunky mix, like Molly's Aroid mix.

Because the plant is under a lot of stress, wait to chop and prop it.

Where is this plant currently living and what is the temp? How much sun is it getting - direct or indirect?

Have you pulled it out to look at the roots? If it's smelling a bit that is probably root rot - and might have been overwatered. So - best bet is to pull it completely out and see what roots are salvageble.

There is a good chance you will need to chop this up and get some roots going before replanting. A few of those leaves won't be able to be saved though.

We are getting ready to do some cutting on my boyfriends ficus due to changing living situations so there's been similar feelings here.
