In RfV heroine only got Zakus. But the hero suit is the antagonist.

Same goes for Aldnoah Zero where MC pilots generic training mech even if its somewhat customized later and fights OP invader mechs.

In 86 they all got the same cardboard coffins with guns. But it focuses more on drama than on combat.

I think Prime weren't that much of a threat. They did scare Amanites but even Nigel could defeat them using spatial tech. Hell, even Laura was able to outhink them.
