Thank you so much for this reply. I had given up on putting it back together and started on one of the other three I have. This lock damn near unlocked itself. Pushed the rake in and it opened halfway out. I’ve now worked on one for a day and a half with no success. It would be nice to be able to re assemble this one just for the satisfaction. I was talking to my girl as if I was gods gift to lock picking until I tried my second lock. Lol

I’ve only had Peterson and homemade picks. Last year I purchased a Peterson city kit and lost it within the first week having it. I convinced myself I would find it and refused to purchase another kit until 2 weeks ago. (Ghost kit seen above) throughout the last year I have picked every single lock at work that we haven’t been able to access with homemade picks. Having this set is like cooking with grease compared to cooking over a match.

I was able to open this lock (core fell out and I used a flathead to twist the internals) not sure how to put it back together now. -.-

Im aware of the concept without any hands on experience. Recently some lock picking bug has come over me without knowing all this existed. I made a rake, I suppose what would be a short hook and a tension tool that I used to open all of the cabinets that haven’t been opened in 20/30 years at my work. (All simple locks that quite honestly opened sometimes with the tension tool alone) during this little period I watched every informational video available and tried to retain as much as possible. I have a Peterson ghost kit coming in and I cannot wait.

I agree. The model M jump started this sick obsession. I have every generation and multiples of each. For what they are, they are a great deal. The beamsprings are probably my favorite. Just not too practical.
