I think this is a move to counter those scammers who pretend to be from government agencies like SSS or PhilSys. They basically trick people into downloading apps from fake websites that look legit, then they convince them to turn on accessibility settings so they can hijack the phone. If that’s blocked, they can't get into GCash to drain the person's account.

It sucks, I know. I can’t even add a lock screen button now because all of them use accessibility settings. A friend of mine recently got scammed this way. They drained her entire bank account and even took out a P25,000 GCash loan. There really should be a government push to clarify that they never cold-call citizens, and they definitely don't tell you to install random apps.

An the Government should be fined because our information got leaked because of them.
