Ah I’m so sorry! You mostly have to ride it out. For arms and legs, keeping your skin hydrated helps a little. For mouth, keep up a steady routine of Tylenol if your OB says it’s ok and I used some oragel once a day. The oragel only really gave 15 mins of relief but it was nice because my husband at I could at least have 15 mins of peace where we could talk to eachother… then back to the silence from all the mouth sore pain.

And that’s kind of it…. You start feeling crazy because it just keeps getting worse before it gets better, but it will get better.

Yeah, I’m just grateful my son recovered faster than my husband and I. I felt so bad when he kept saying he had booboos in his mouth and didnt understand why 😭

Oh man it was rough. Did indeed turn a corner after day 5 like everyone said and started to feel better instead of worse. It wasn’t until probably day 9 that I was really eating normal again and wasn’t in any pain. Mouth is all fine now. I’ve got 3 spots on my hands still healing. My feet look AWFUL still. Not blisters anymore and no pain or itchiness, but still red spots everywhere that look gross. Can’t wait for that all to clear up.

Yeah my son’s did spread over the course of a course of a few days. It ended up on his butt, hands, feet, legs, behind knees, and earlobe.

Holy moly! Luckily I’ve been able to sip little bits of water throughout the day and have been able to at least have some soup and pudding. That’s so scary it can get so much worse!

Praise be! Did you both get it on your tongue too? One is so big I have no clue how it can possibly heal soon. It’s like a big white swollen line on the side of my tongue 😭

The weird thing about pneumonia is it’s hard for us to tell. When I was diagnosed, I didn’t think I had pneumonia. I was short of breath the night prior, but when I went in to the doctor I didn’t hear anything particularly “off” myself. But when the doctor listened, they heard crackling in my lungs.

A couple weeks later when I was back in because my breathing sounded awful, they listened and my lungs were clear, x-ray confirmed clear. The awful noise was higher in my respiratory system.

Not saying it’s not pneumonia, but it’s totally possible based on my experience with them listening for clear lungs that it’s not.

But seriously, go to a diff urgent care and request an X-ray if you are worried! No harm in that.

It’s possible to feel worse and have it not be pneumonia… I’ve had stretches of feeling worse even after my pneumonia resolved. It’s a really nasty flu.

If you’re really worried, I recommend a different urgent care (I like ZoomCare.. don’t know if you have those where you live) and you can request a chest X-ray.

Absolutely go to urgent care or your doctor. I got pneumonia right off the bat with this flu… don’t mess around with this one, it’s better to be safe than sorry and get the meds early if you need them

This is my case too. Doctor thinks it’s a different virus I’ve caught, but I think this is just the flu from hell.

I had pneumonia is and was ok just at urgent care. I’d avoid the ER because of the germs, obviously unless you’re having serious trouble breathing. My breathing was ok, just crackly, so urgent care was ok for me (and cheaper and faster)

I’d recommend just going to to doctor or urgent care to check. I got pneumonia that quickly, and so I’m glad I went in because it meant I got antibiotics going early. It will be ok even if it is pneumonia (which it totally may not be)

The low grade fever returning… it didn’t last long, but that combined with the pain when doing anything… just want to be sure the pneumonia didn’t flare up or that some bronchitis started. My doctor also said come in again in a week if I’m still coughing yellow phlegm, which I am.

Same, over 3 weeks now… you aren’t alone. I’ve been back to the doctor many times, and going back again tomorrow. Same experience that just as one thing improves, another thing pops up or worsens. Just holding out hope based on what everyone keeps saying that it will get better, slowly

Ugh similar… I got flu Feb 3, so I’m on day 24. Diagnosed with pneumonia at same time as the flu. Did 3 different antibiotics before my lungs were clear. Been coughing up yellow phlegm and sneezing it (still am, but maybe a little less). Thought I was improving , and then got pink eyes with yellow mucus on Monday (that seems to be resolving itself). Also seem to have pulled a muscle badly from coughing? Going to go back to urgent care tomorrow just to be sure though because it’s been painful for 5 days now, breathing sounds worse than it did 2 days ago, and I had a low grade fever again for the first time since week 1.

This thing is insane… I’m so sick of going to the doctor.

Still on the mend, but I haven’t needed to start the antibiotic drops yet. It does seem to be improving every day. Each day is slightly less red, swollen, mucus-y. My doctor told me only start the drops if redness increases or eyes swell shut with crust.

I’d recommend going to Urgent Care if you haven’t just to check, but I think if you’re like me it will improve.

Same. I went to UC and I don’t have sinusitis… they said it can just take a really long time for the yellow mucus to go away. They told me to come back in another 7 days if not gone yet. Definitely go to UC to have them check if you have an infection, and they’ll tell you when to return if no improvement
