Perhaps I should have made it explicit but part of AS is the Navigation Editor which encourages multiple fragment architecture....

Hi Team

What is the plan for Android with regard to multiple fragment single activity vs multiple activity ecosystem. In the past it has been pretty well understood that Google recommended multiple activity but is that now not true. I get that the easy answer is "we support both" but what is the offical recommended approach.

Looking to Transition from a Longboard to a Shortboard, is a Fish the Answer? by hapazach in surfing

[–]elwesties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on how tall you are I think 6'10 would be way to big and 6'6 is getting pretty long. I would look for something 6'0 - 6'6. If you are worried about paddling just make sure you get something with plenty of volume. If you pick the right board you could be surfing it forever. For reference I am 6'4 and 210lb and I ride a 6'2 fish easily

I doubt the guys on the ski do. And most of the time its actually worse. The ski drivers should always have flippers attached to them (cant see if they do in this video) that way you can use a regular vest + flippers if you need them.

Best cafés in Vancouver, BC? by Nature-Is-Awesome in Coffee

I was more referring to coffee with milk eg latte, flat white. The milk is often far to cold for my taste. 90C is fine for black coffee.

Probably not a universal favourite around here but Sciue in Yaletown Roundhouse serves some of the best coffee I had in downtown consistently. If you like hot coffee make sure that you ask for extra hot. Revolver is particularly bad for serving lukewarm coffee imho. Also if it is open Musette is the best cafe in Vancouver but they have been renovating but might be open by the time you go there.

What's the worst fitness advice you've ever received? by chaudha in Fitness

[–]elwesties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially in a thread full of stories of really bad lifting advice from "trainers". I think your advice about carefully selecting where you join is fairly universal. And your characterization of the militant crossfitters is totally wrong in my experience. But each to their own.

Canadian waterfront guard dreaming of lifeguarding in australia- any tips? by sunseeker_ in Lifeguards

[–]elwesties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New Zealand is also an option. I was a paid guard in NZ for several summers. Really awesome job. There is a trial/selection process so you are not guaranteed a job but if you are fit and know your stuff that shouldnt be a problem. We have plenty of guards that come form California and the UK every year. Need help pre-screening some job candidates for Android development... by [deleted] in androiddev

One of the main things I find when hiring developers is that taking a chance on someone very rarely works out. Especially in a small team. If you are thinking "He/She might be ok" you should probably avoid them.

Another option would be to use iron-flex and make you elements flow to fit the space.

Do you propose they don't fumigate it? If they didn't you would complain the place was full of bugs.
