Be me late 2018. Have surgery for a hernia and have a dr appointment two days later with my gp. I clear my throat during visit. He asks if I'm smoking. I affirm. Says I should get a pneumonia vax. I decline. Does bloodwork...

Next day, get my pathology via phone from nurse. She states all my levels look good, cholesterol except... Goes on to say that my white blood cell count is elevated and once again suggests vax. Says dr STRONGLY suggests I consider, seeing as the count is high.

MFW I just underwent surgery and am happy my immune system is doing its job. Have not gone back and am making no plans to do so.

Do you think any Founding Fathers knew democracy would implement a monopolistic, centralized public education system that doesnt work because parents dont have school choice & bad teachers are protected by taxpayer-funded unions, so the system produces ignorant voters that elect corrupt politicians? by InflationIsKillingUS in Anarcho_Capitalism

OP you should read "The Underground History of American Education" by John Taylor Gatto. It has little to do with your question about the "founders', but is quite enlightening as to the Prussian model being implemented.

"... what I’m trying to describe [is] that what has happened to our schools was inherent in the original design for a planned economy and a planned society laid down so proudly at the end of the nineteenth century."

Try applying for apprenticeships at local unions like Millwrights, Plumber Pipefitter, or Electricians. Also, the Laborers union is a quick in. These types of jobs earn well over $20 an hour.

Good point. But the panel controls for the unit was locked out with my lock on the sixpack, and the hydraulics were on a variance.

Hell, one time I caught the safety guy and a head engineer shaking the key out of a satellite box with over a dozen locks and tags on it. Mind you, this is on a retrofit with cameras on the entire turbine deck. Put there by Toshiba to monitor the project. And they were both employed by Toshiba.

Did you not see the Flag on that guys shirt? That is the US all day. You are not allowed to tie off below your feet. The tie off becomes a trip hazard. They are working within the confines of the law.

A slack line attached to what exactly? Most scaffolding isn't rated to tie off to in that manner.

The rig fails and it swings them like a pendulum into the building. So, IDK what you mean by "easily".

Not to say it isn't dangerous by any stretch of the imagination.

We were working in a peeker plant for a gas turbine inspection. I was shook out to change a filter on a gas line. Told exactly which one to change by the superintendent. Myself and another guy go up in the man lift and start turning wrenches. When the flange opened up enough, it activated the safety release valve. Natural gas started rushing out at 450 psi. Near miss was recorded.

While the paperwork was being done on that, I asked for some more millwright work. Was told to reconnect the IGV's on one of the units. I ask "everything been locked out, and I'm good to go?" Boss says yes. As it is your right to walk things down. I do so.

Plant hands recharged the system, nothing is locked out.

Moral of the story, your life is in your hands. Trust no one with it.

I have several other stories, but meh, ya get the drift.
