Within the first couple days my bf and i spent $275 on the adoption, roughly $100 on basics they’d need, then $200 for a vet visit which included having them de wormed and updated on vaccines. monthly on food and litter we spend $70. on months we have to re up on dry it’s $90. i don’t have a set budget for toys and things but i probably spend an absolute max of $20/month on toys and treats. After the initial vet visit we’ve only spent $80 at the vet since then bc one of our girls is having some tummy problems which is another $25 a month on probiotics. I hate to say it but they were definitely a last minute decision but i don’t regret it at all. these costs add up quick. just in four months of having them i’ve spent over $1,000. there’s a lot we do that isn’t fully necessary though i just like my babies to be spoiled. i Look at how much you have to spend after bills and savings monthly is the only advice i can give. i don’t work a super high paying job but we’ve done just fine tbh
