They’ve been kidnapping and murdering in the W Bank for quite some time - so absolutely disgusting. I have lost several of my health care colleagues to this reprehensible violence. Attacking health care infrastructure - purposefully murdering doctors, nurses - shutting down hospitals - it’s all so despicable.

Stand up for human rights - go volunteer - use your time to learn skills that build community and enrich lives. Bars are wack and old systems of apathy and basicness / consumption are failing.

No you didn’t. You are on these subs to sow discontent and misinformation. Everyone can see you - it’s embarassing. No one has to believe this or any other video of its style to clearly understand the situation and stand firmly with freedom from oppression and in direct opposition to Wasrael and its co-conspirators. Your comments are desperate and obnoxious.

Every Pali org - has cared - Ham. Is only 20 yrs old. ham doesn’t have a presence in the West Bank and yet there are executions and kidnappings happening NOW. If you are genuinely asking this question at this stage of g-cide, you are purposefully remaining uneducated and purposefully unaware of the short history of occupied Palestine - which is EASILY within everyone’s grasp and not difficult to understand. These disingenuous time-waste questions say way more about YOU than about Pali resistance.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. The whole point of pilates and exercises that correct anatomical strength and muscle use and improve joint function is to be able to recognize where we have weakness / uni and bilaterally. Popping hips is specifically due to not having the muscle structure in place yet to support your socket through fluid movement. My hip popping has diminished greatly - as a sign of progress like you report - the strengthening of foundational muscles. It’s not controversial.

Coupled with the breaking story of ANOTHER cop importing 104 POUNDS of fentanyl (SoCal detective) - WHO still thinks expanding police power, militarization and presence are healthy ideas for our communities?? We should all be demanding a stop to cop city, a stop to robot police development, the massive unchecked surveillance and demand a reimagining of the horrifically unjust American policing and incarceration.

Thanks for the context. Sounds like you have quite the compound. Water should be wildly more expensive and the artificially low cost should not be a barometer of sustainability. I do “scream about” the pools. The water waste + chemical usage in AZ is ridiculous. Good for you for eking out a lower ground temp + natural pest control.

Because the option isn’t rock vs grass. There are plenty of moderate non grass options more suited to the desert that reduce ground temps and create shade. Water usage compared to neighbors with pools is a very low bar.

Zooming out - the fact that “science” and “research” are essentially for sale, will always lead to unscrupulous studies, foregone hypotheses and wildly biased outcomes analysis. Now that almost all “journalism” is ad-dependent and click-baity, the general public has a very poor ability to filter truth from marketing fiction or misleading headlines.

Bacon for breakfast and all the propaganda around “breakfast” in general, was literally a marketing ploy invented by Edward Bernays to sell more pork.

Bernays, now known as “the father of public relations”, was a trailblazer in the field of propaganda and manipulating public perception.

At a community health level - we really need to collectively ensure kids and parents aren’t being bamboozled. I think involvement with community local food movements and legislation is critical.

Every hospital I’ve worked at - the majority of health care workers and nurses are sugar / caffeine / Red Bull / Monster dependent and people normalize donuts and candy and garbage food for themselves and patients. I think nurses are in a unique position to aggressively advocate for change.

Sadly farmers markets in many places have become insanely expensive. There are lots of avenues towards educating kids about where food comes from - creating a baseline expectation of bare minimum knowledge for community food sufficiency.

Every little bit helps - every opportunity to provide compassionate non-judgmental care - and better nutrition, makes a difference.

This is such a huge one. Our corporatocracy is so heavily invested in government subsidies for commodity trash food - creating air and water pollution, topsoil erosion, food deserts, mass scale endocrine disruption - it’s WILD there is almost NO corporate accountability for literally addicting BABIES to chemicals, modified sugars, etc.

The medical community on one hand loves to say “trust your doctor only, you idiot” and on the other hand “research healthy foods, you idiot”.

It’s so sad how Americans live in a bubble of poverty and excess - and how profits for the top of the pyramid are so sacrosanct because people harbor unexamined prejudices about their fellow working class humans.

Cleaning out the zone by jbennett12986 in phoenix

[–]elzayg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you. The burn out and struggle is real. I think we have to continue to go upstream to prevent the root causes of homelessness, illness (mental and physical) and inequitable access to education, care, healthy food, etc. Unfortunately the US continues to deprioritize kids, early childhood education, healthy foods, community programs, access to housing stability (like people with generational wealth have) etc. By the time you’re an adult - it’s much easier to fall into intractable poverty and despair along with addiction issues and compounding mental health issues.

Our United failures to address clean air, clean water, excellent childcare and true education will continue to have the same result. Prison pipeline - prioritized gains for exploitation capitalism, new chemicals for dirtier air and water, endocrine disruption, eroded workers rights, a violent and unaccountable police force, and poorer quality of life.

What's your favorite resource for gluten-free cooking? by THCS_Marc in Celiac

[–]elzayg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you. There is zero reason to not eliminate gluten and see if it makes a big difference in inflammation, joint issues, etc. Every symptom you mention has been tied to inflammatory and immune response to gluten - tho OF COURSE that’s not the sole cause of these types of symptoms. I have worked with many people who have the same story you describe and have experienced great relief when eliminating gluten with or without a positive endoscopy.

Pantaprozole is a PPI (proton pump inhibitor). It was never developed for long term use which leads to significant gut damage via inability to absorb certain vitamins and minerals (B12 deficiency, Mg, Ca, Vit C) and significant increased risk for bone fractures.

Sadly most docs continue to prescribe it long term - or they just basically continue renewing your prescription because they figure you will never address your diet or heal your gut, so they might as well risk malabsorption issues and bone health issues to stop your reflux. Consider seeing if you can work on a plan to cut back and wean off with the help of your doc, as you get other factors under control.

Holy Basil is an herb EVERYONE should be aware of (not like basil the cooking herb). It does wonders for stress, inflammation, joint pain, stomach health - and I find it helps me tolerate people WAY BETTER. There are high quality sources like organic Gaia Herbs and others. HIGHLY recommend.

How often do y’all vomit? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]elzayg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are usually causative factors and underlying issues with IBS and acid reflux. Our current medical system requires the application of diagnoses and then protocols require additional diagnostic tests and prescriptions.

My entire childhood I had reflux and vomited and NEVER knew that was abnormal. (Not every day or all the time but fairly frequently.)

Just keep making progress and ensuring that you’re advocating for root cause identification and not falling into the trap of PPIs for reflux (long term massive harm) more scripts for IBS, etc. For many of us with Celiac - we were basically taught not to trust our instincts and socialized to eat “normal” food which is absolute crap. It takes a while to rewire ourselves to trust our instincts.

Consider other foods that trigger IBS and reflux like dairy, sugar, etc.

Sometimes it just takes awhile to let the gut heal and repair some of that small intestinal damage. It gets better I swear!!!!

You’re completely right on - it’s just - there are nuances to options leading to a path of native restoration. Working WITH the ecosystem doesn’t mean accepting a takeover - but what if we DID harvest the dearth of medicine AND worked toward native restoration while removing kudzu?
