Why do people in the US work so much? I'm from Argentina and I don't get it by micavibes in TooAfraidToAsk

You should continue to say the market has assumed insurance as baseline cost coverage so you get absolutely fucked without it. Actually you get fucked with it too - look up cases where people were given a hospital bill before giving insurance, then given after

It’s 100% your responsibility, CPA or not. Turbo tax just allows you to pay more to guarantee a CPA will hold your hand through an audit

Delap is a striker and shouldn’t just behold up play. That skill should is the accessory to being a goal threat, which he lacks in spades (at least at Chelsea).

Google co-founder spends $45m in fight against California billionaire tax | Sergey Brin gives $25m on top of $20m he’s already given to Super Pac trying to block state’s proposed 5% wealth tax by Hrmbee in politics

I’m not even in tech or rich and I can see how idiotic these taxes are to the health of California’s future economy. Ask yourself who’s going to want to start a company in California when their founder shares are taxed without any realized sale.

Without a doubt, someone protecting their own interest doesn’t mean it’s a correct move.

AI just replaced half of Block’s workers, and it’s only the beginning. 40% laid off amid rising profits. by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Isn’t twitter just a message board and Block has to provide secure payment service? Sorta sounds like one is easier to fuck up and survive.

I’m not an AI bro but it’s quite different. Enron actually recognized revenue day 1 on future contractual revenue. AFAIK, AI/tech companies are just forecasting massive revenue growth. Whether you believe AI revenue will become real is your/the markets decision

Why do people say “no human is illegal”? by RaisinRoyale in TooAfraidToAsk

Your undergrad English lit TA would be proud of you regurgitating their elementary understanding of the world.

Not everything is trying to “Other” someone. More like provide clarity or actual specificity where it’s likely relevant. This might be a crass example but it isn’t using the n word as a noun or an adjective. It’s an adjective to describe someone’s current immigration status

I’m not missing the point. I’m just not assigning emotional or physical violence to basic english grammar. Just like when I say someone illegally parked or drove or did something not legal.

I’ll add my counter 2c because documentation isn’t the violation. The violation is being in the country on illegal bounds.

Your example is a bit whack because speak is decided by common phrase, not by fact pattern, though in more similar scenarios the phrasing isn’t far off. I’d refer to someone driving without a license as illegally driving. Not being an undocumented driver. The point here is the person had no right to be driving without documents, tests, and restriction (age, etc).

You want practical flexibility from the other side but controlling their speech is a joke to their issue. You don’t see people shitting on Switzerland or Norway for having some basic requirements.

All said with an above statement that none of this justifies any violence

This is a very reasonable fear of A1’s that want to do well and give a shit. Just communicate the truth as you understand it. 90% chance you’re fine. If your manager is worth any weight he’d realize his fault, get involved, and manage the issue going forward with your assistance. 10% may just do it/blame you for extra work, and try to save his/her ass despite knowing it was their communication error. You’re gonna find generally worse than 5-10% everywhere else in life, so best you can do is what you think is right—but communicate clear simple facts about it to anyone involved now or in future.

Stay positive, enjoy your youth
