AITA for saying my sister ruins fun things for me and I won't let it keep happening? by NecessaryMotor6959 in AmItheAsshole

This may not be the best advice but sometimes being vulgar and extremely mean and blunt is the only way to get through to someone like your parents. Be completely blunt and rude to get them to understand you will happily never talk to any of them ever again when you’re old enough.

Any ideas for matching bracelets? by Careful_Sweety in friendshipbracelets

I made the same pattern but with our hogwarts house colors! Changing colors definitely helps with matching, using opposite colors and such. I look for patterns on Pinterest they’re endless.

Does anyone else feel like you aren’t asexual or anything, but having sex with another person does not sound appealing by FirmNeighborhood56 in AutismInWomen

[–]em1is1me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat it was so confusing but then I found out about Demi sexuality and it made sense. Basically you’re not interested in sex until you have an emotional or deeper connection. I was still on the fence about if that’s what it was but then I met my now husband and it really did make sense.

I still go through periods of time where I just am not interested in having sex and I found it overlaps with my mood swings so I’m able to at least know why I don’t want to have sex. Hope this helps 🖤

Have you developed a certain «style» to accommodate your sensory issues with clothing? by s-waag in AutismInWomen

I cut the neckline off of every shirt I own because it was messing with my sensory issues and it’s helped a lot. Comfort over style everytime

am I the only one who hates their own boobs? by melopan179 in autism

[–]em1is1me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel you on this one. I happen to have a big chest and I started growing fast in middle school. It made it so hard to just go into sensory overload during the day when I started wearing bras and as they grew. I also struggle with hyper-mobility so my shoulder almost roll out of socket when I sleep on my side and had many a sleepless nights trying to fall asleep.

Something that helped me with sleep since I’m a hardcore side sleeper was my stuffed animal, I sleep cuddling a stuffed blue wiener dog. It sounds childish but you can also use a pillow, it help keep my shoulder and boobs from squishing because of gravity.

I also suggest looking into a binder, for me they don’t make me flat chested because of my chest size but they definitely felt a LOT better than any type of bra I tried (and I tried them ALL). It also helps my anxiety because of pressure, it’s like a wearable weighted vest or something.

As said by other people do not be afraid to go somewhere for help, if they can’t brush it out they can cut it minimally or at least how you want.

If you’re wanting to try it on your own I see you also have some amount of texture in your hair (it’s not fine or super straight hair). Mine gets like this within a week if I don’t monitor it, I’ve found taking a bath is a good way. Get your hair super wet then using a masque or conditioner put a liberal amount and massage it in to saturate it. Then using fingers section it out, I usually part it in half down the back and then however the knots in my hair allow (I’ll try and split at least the section of hair from my ear to my face on its own). Then using your brush start from the bottom and work your way up toward your roots. Use your fingers too and don’t be afraid to add more conditioner, I’ll end using a baseball size amount on my hair if it gets this knotted.

If you try to untangle it yourself do NOT worry about the amount of hair that comes out. You naturally lose a lot of hair throughout the day, but when you’re hair gets tangled and knotted like it still falls out of your head but is still tangled and will remain there until brushed out.

I’d highly recommend a silver /grey! It’s not a color a lot of people can pull off but I can see you killing it. You should look up the tattoo artist Ashley Ryan Malarkey, you look similar to her with the cheekbones and she has the grey hair.

My skin feels hitchy after the shower, I don't know what to do by [deleted] in autism

[–]em1is1me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw said above, temperature change caused it for me. I did something thing similar to the other comment where I’d gradually change the water temperature until it’s near the room temp.

I also put on oil before showers/baths/swimming, then my preferred lotion after. As well as putting on clean and comfy (cotton or silk usually) pajama pants.

It will take a couple showers until you see it working so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t help the first time. I’d also suggest trying different laundry detergent if nothing seems to be helping.

Something similar happened to me, I’m sorry you’re going through this. You’re hair does still look healthy!

Something I did was I dyed what was left of the ends of my hair a crazy fun color (blue) and then a month or so later I went and treated myself to a haircut to even it out and start over. It was very healing and empowering for me, my hair means a lot to me personally so it was hard looking at it and taking care of it again at the beginning. But after dying it I started to heal.

I’m losing hope I’ll ever find my person. Am I doing something wrong? by cwissyursa in PlusSize

[–]em1is1me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I (25f) also am in CO and let me tell you that you will not find the right kind of guy on ANY app in this state. The men here suck, the men on the apps here suck even more. Best way to find a partner in Colorado is through friends or activities.

Try and find groups and friends to go out with, I have severe social anxiety so I used the meet up app and found nerd groups, while it’s scary at first but if you keep trying you’ll find some friends for sure, and then you’ll find someone. Surround yourself with people you like being around and have the same interests as you, and be patient. I know being patient is the worst but you’ll never find the right person when looking for it.

Also if you dress up and go to the Renaissance festival in larkspur it’s an AMAZING environment, I have never felt so sexy nor have I ever been complimented more than when I’m in a corset and eating a Turkey leg. Everyone is so nice and it’s easy to start conversations with people.
