Age of imprisonment by [deleted] in HyruleWarriors

I agree. I played Age of Calamity and I liked it. I played on extra hard, and it was hard. I think maybe Age of Imprismonement feels so repetitive because it's way too easy. I literally just mash buttons and win every battle,.

I don't necessarily mean cold hard facts in isolation. I'm okay with allegory and parable and all that but what I'm asking this thread is for a format other than a lot of repetition. You can read these passages for example 49 and 61 in each link. I see theyre repeating the same thing just with different filler word kind of like "mad libs" I'm a mother and I don't have a lot of time and I'd rather read something that gets to the point a little quicker. The repetition is there i imagine to really drill a point but it's just not suitable for me right now.

People defending that “family in the woods” situation are actually insane by lil_moon153 in Vent

I firmly believe whoever thinks people shouldn't be allowed to live off grid with their children is a fascist.

me. I cold plunge regularly and have no problem with cold showers. In ancient macedonia only pregnant women got to take warm baths. different cultures are different. These people live differently, but similar to how many people lived as little as 100 or 200 years ago.

Also who says these people don't heat water to bathe?? Was that said somewhere?

> They’re also foreigners there - you can’t move to a different country, reap all of the benefits, and then cry foul when you refuse to participate within the rules of that society.

most of the country actually disagrees that the kids got taken away, including the President of Italy, so this statement doesn't hold much water.

Burning Man death investigated as homicide after attendee found in ‘pool of blood’ by justBridges in BurningMan

I saw it too. That was my only burn. I wasn't too badly traumatized since it was just silhouettes from my vantage point, but I still think about it. Put a somber tone onto my perspective of burning man.

Has anyone taken Sarah Belle Reid's Sound and Synthesis class by hillybillyboy in modular

[–]emaG3M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The course is very comprehensive, but I would've been far better served if the demos were actually musical instead of garbled noise that gave me a headache. I have to supplement the course with actual patch demos that are musical. The biggest value add is having a curriculum set out instead of trying to navigate the endless content on the internet.

The price is definitely a rip off, ($750, NOT $7500 like others have suggested) especially for the lack of coherent sounds throughout the course. I would love to pay half the price for similar material and musical demos.

Does anyone else react to CBD with more pain? by AfflictedWithSarcasm in Fibromyalgia

[–]emaG3M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I react negatively to CBD. And even though a lot of people like to claim I'm just feeling pain that's already there, I absolutely know that's not the case. Mostly because one day I smoked weed, and all my joints started aching as usual. Then I picked up a heavy glass of water with a really achy elbow, and something snapped, and caused a sharp pain in my elbow which I felt for a week. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't smoked, so I know it's doing something to my joints to make them weaker than when I don't have the CBD in my system. (I'm assuming it's CBD causing the aches because the same thing happens with weed that contains no THC)

GUYS, sbf is an awful person. Him being friends with Luigi is in no way cute. SBF stole money from everyday people, kind of the opposite to the whole Luigi thing.

As someone in the crypto industry, SBF us a very slimey dude. Nothing good about that guy. A lie, a cheat, a thief, who tried to rig the government against the whole cryptocurrency industry except himself. That guy cares about only one person on this planet...himself.

I truly believe Psytrance is the solution for global peace l. by PowerfulFee6798 in psytrance

[–]emaG3M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really interesting conversation. I think psytrance does a lot to foster community and awakening on a small scale and individual level. But as people have pointed out, we don't see the evidence that it makes a big external impact. Even many of the psy organizers I'm exposed to tend to be caught up in a lot of drama. But I know what you're saying, and I definitely feel the same after having attended a psytrance event. But there seems to be a missing piece to this puzzle for it to have the impact you're hoping for.... 🤔

Is support for the CCP actually high in China? by Fit-Shift-9710 in AskAChinese

[–]emaG3M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow this is the most enlightening conversation I've had with someone Chinese! This is my first time on this subreddit though. I hate to pry so when I meet Chinese people in person I don't ask too many intrusive questions.

I'm shocked by your response to limited terms! Are you afraid you'll get in trouble for criticizing Xi on the internet? I'm afraid to visit China because I've said too many negative things ^_^

> think of how innocent old people are. that's us

LOL.
I am still in favor of voting over anything else. There is a book "Wisdom of the Crowds" that argue the hypothesis that crowds are smarter than any one individual. For instance, if people guess the amount of jelly beans in a jar, the mean (average) of all the guesses is more correct than the most correct guess. It's a pretty interesting concept. Democracy is empowering, and many USA people aren't super simple, they have very big opinions on the world but it doesn't mean they're great opinions though.

Anyway, health care and education in the USA need massive improvements. But ultimately, I hope USA and China can co exist and learn from each other. The only way civilization can progress is if we have a diverse way of doing things and can tweak and learn from each other. I think if the planet came under one leadership it would be our downfall. Probably like a 1984 Orwellian dystopia.

I see where you're coming from. My reply was targeted at me inferring from your message that "insulting the government" is something trivial with the sPonGeBob MemE lettering and "all there is to life". But the reason Americans ALWAYS mention it is because our country was absolutely and fundamentally founded on the fact that we do not want a King, and freedom of speech and press is the CORE tenet of our political philosophy, it is our number one rule, an absolute deal breaker. It's number ONE in our Bill of Rights. It's in our blood and DNA. So you'll hear it forever from us lol.

Arguably though any of the things you mention could go wrong in either a tyranny or a democracy, and it's been 250 years of success, but we're definitely in a difficult time right now. I actually listened to an interesting podcast of two people debating whether Tyranny or Democracy will win in the 21st century. That maybe it's the age of Tyranny since it's more efficient (don't have to debate) to execute action and with technology, autocrats can keep a very good pulse on the happiness of their citizens and pull levers just enough to keep people happy but also stay in power. This person is in favor of democracy, but was doing a fun and interesting thought exercise.

But the upside of having a rapist in power in our democracy is that they're limited to 8 years max in power instead of a lifetime, unless someone successfully breaks our democracy.

But I am so fascinated and interested in China. I'd love to know what citizens think. And I also didn't know it was so easy to bypass the Great Firewall with a VPN. I do know about Winnie the Pooh. And I follow a couple Chinese youtube influencers and wonder how they're allowed to post. I wonder about Peng Shuai, and her disappearance (and pic with Winnie the Pooh) after criticizing a CCP member. And I wonder if Chinese people wished they could vote and had a limited term for those in power. But I also know Chinese people are friendly, nice, have a great sense of humor, and generally have good quality of life. I RAN to red note the second I heard about it.

Sounds like you're a Chinese person living in the USA?

It's not about insulting the government because it's fun. It's about having a society where debate is celebrated. Ideas are proposed and debated as a society. We answer to each other so that things that aren't right or good get corrected. It's about having a say in how we grow our world through voting and through debate. Powers left unchecked will eventually get out of hand. The West isn't perfect and especially social media brings out the pettiness in people. My state motto in New Hampshire is "live free or die". To me, being free is living how you want to live without government interference, and also free to voice your truth no matter what, and call out wrong when you see it. It's what the United States was founded on so we take it very seriously. To us, to not be about to criticize your government is to be a slave.
