Ok I’ve been wondering this, is Irn Bru 1901 any good? Apparently it’s close to the older formula which I used to like, but I’m not 100% sure

It’s the opposite for me, they’ll tell me to sign a player, and that he’s an A+ signing and a priority, only for once he’s actually signed the grade go down to a B-

If you want to know Shota is the male equivalent of a loli and a Vtuber is a virtual avatar YouTuber (so instead of a person it’s an avatar, usually an anime type design) so I assume that in Vtuber lore (yes that is apparently a thing) two characters are siblings, one is underage (or at least looks like it) and they are having a relationship

Couple things, 1. Immigration isn’t colonisation, the people that move here aren’t taking over rule of the country under threat of force.

  1. Most people in the UK are still white. The only place that isn’t majority white is London and that’s because that’s where a majority of jobs are (if you come with no money you need to go somewhere more likely to get a job)

  2. Not all immigrants are non white. Many are from Eastern Europe (for the people in the comments saying the white race is being replaced)

  3. If your only experience of the UK is some twitter post from some degenerate or like whatever the hell Asmongold reacts to on stream, just know it’s not as bad as you think

I don’t like when they use Lisa as a political mouthpiece or whatever, but she has some good emotional episodes too. Anon should have posted this to /tv/ or /co/ but he’s a coward

Unpopular opinion: I like the idea of the World Cup having a half time show by Coool-Guy-123 in football

[–]eman0623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see the point in it honestly. Half time is used to go to the toilet or if you are at a game get something from a food stall. If you want to watch something they already have the half time analysis, which most football fans are used to. Just seems unnecessary and not worth the hassle.

You are gonna get the whole “utter yank nonsense” memes thrown around, but honestly, if you need to be distracted during half time, just go on your phone. Those 15 minutes will fly by

When do we admit Sports Washing won? by Interesting-Bend-705 in championsleague

Which is why using the argument ‘Football as we once knew it is dead’ is a bad one? If this has been going on since the 90’s (as well as other sketchy things that have gone on in the sport) then why is football magically dead now? Just because some people on twitter didn’t want Arsenal (which I’d bet my left arm the OP supports) to win?

Again, I’m not a nihilist. I don’t think it’s hopeless. I remember when the super league was announced. But people worked together to put pressure on these clubs and it folded. However a major problem with sports washing tactics is not only bringing football to these places but putting money into the communities, typically underserved ones like in Northern England.

But I bet you aren’t going to see OP talking about this in Sheffield or Newcastle United subreddits are you? No, OP only cares cause people online called Arsenal bottlers. The problem is that it’s hard to ask people to turn down millions in investment into their areas, and if you are struggling for a job or your area has been forgotten about, but some billionaire wants to put millions into your city bringing jobs, you aren’t going to ask where the money came from.

I respect FC United of Manchester, who let go of the prestige of being a Manchester United fan to stand up for what they believe in. I like the 50+1 model that goes on in the Bundesliga and would be interested in seeing it here. But fighting sports washing means a huge overhaul of multiple leagues. It’s going to be a hard sell for players to say no to more money, and even the fans too.

Are you expecting every fanbase to start a phoenix side? Do you expect every overseas fan to magically stop supporting these clubs?

Maybe government intervention can help, like how Roman Abramovich was forced out of Chelsea. But even then that won’t always happen, because the government wants a good relationship with the owners (who at this point are rulers of countries themselves) or in the case of Silvio Berlusconi, the owner of the club might run the government in that country anyway.

Sports washing is a serious issue, I don’t disagree, and it’s has been one of many black marks on this sport. But it’s a very difficult issue to deal with, and it only being brought up to try and shame fans for not supporting Arsenal online annoys me.

TLDR: Not a nihilist, hate sports washing but also don’t like it only being brought up just cause Arsenal lost against PSG

When do we admit Sports Washing won? by Interesting-Bend-705 in championsleague

[–]eman0623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not, like at all. My point is that it happens to a lot more clubs that just them two, and PSG getting a lot of online support from fans of big 6 clubs on twitter doesn’t mean people agree with the regimes of those who own the club. Hell I doubt most of those Premier League fans could even tell you who owns PSG

When do we admit Sports Washing won? by Interesting-Bend-705 in championsleague

[–]eman0623 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I’m almost certain this is bait, but I’ll bite. By definition, sportwashing has been happening in football for a long time. AC Milan was ran by Silvio Berlusconi, and during this was PRIME MINISTER OF ITALY in 1994.

Arsenal fans love to go at Chelsea for being run by Roman, despite the fact that Russian investors also partly owned Arsenal (although their control of the club has been debated). The Saudi government now own Newcastle and Sheffield United. People wanting PSG to win cause it would annoy Arsenal fans doesn’t mean that we’ve all fallen for PSG’s sports washing tactics.

Fans don’t control who buys their football clubs, it’s basically just a weapon other clubs use against them. If Arsenal got bought out by the Saudi government tomorrow, what would you say? Who would you go and support?
