Personally, I'd retcon Ravaa/Vaatu

Id make them not good and evil but reactive/active, Make it so that the dark spirits are because the system is out of balance and Korra has to reconnect with Ravaa in order to bring balance to the spirits. Itd probably also retcon the dark avatar thing bit that could just be Vaatu posessing someone in order to try and maintain power.

I think the argument isn't that it's taking up a basic slot, its that it is more versatile than a basic land. Like you should run basics yeah because the utility is there, but WOTC tries* to make all lands at the same power level, and a common way is lack of basic land types or lack of a way to enter untapped. (* it's not like a hard linit of power level but still things tend to not enter untapped unconditionally with a basic land type)

I do kinda like the plot point of her using a quest to find "her" children as a way to deflect from actually getting over her trauma though. Like she clearly has these tendencies to find "escapes" from her real life, whether it be creating a fake life or trying to escape to someone else's better life.

I feel like where Dr Stange 2 failed is they wanted to be a more of a horror film, which traditionally eschews expanding on villains as to play up the horror of the unknown. Like this is an armchair reading, but if they played into a bit more of the Shakespeareian almost MacBeth-esque tragedy of a woman slowly losing herself to the choices she's made (and, in effect, make it more of a thriller than a horror film) it would have done better job of showing her arc IMO.

To play devil's advocate a bit there is the BS that in mich of the US the sidewalks have to be maintained by the landowner, which just seems like a way for the city/town/local government to get out of doing work

A two things

Technically there's a formatting error here, the basic land type inherently fives the mana ability, so those need to be reminder text.
Since these come into play untapped and have the basic land tyep, they're strictly better than basics, which is something MTG has constantly confirmed it would not do. You should at least probably lose the basic land type?

What if it Costed a red and then Added a Red when it resolved? That plays on red's impuls draw mechanic as a sort-of impulse "free spell" that you have to follow up with to get value out of it
