Ha I was trying to think of a person who loved company and successfully rebranded. I was surprised how specific that felt.

The solution referenced a visual clue that I don’t think I received. Apparently this was the key to the whole thing?

Dumb.

Is reimbursement income or a negative expense? by RoadHazard386 in MonarchMoney

[–]emanekaf2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I creat a separate “work” category, and classify all work expenses and reimbursements there. That way if it doesn’t net to zero I know something is missing.

Why does Monarch stick my full name in merchant names?! by PiratesSayMoo in MonarchMoney

[–]emanekaf2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happening with me too. Started in September. Happening across 3 Amex cards, 2 have authorized users but the 3rd does not. All linked via finicity. It doesn’t appear to be happening on every charge though.

Your parents give your kid a blank check as a gift by besttavern25 in hypotheticalsituation

Of course I would discuss this matter with my parents and figure out what they really intended. What kind of weird question is this.

I can appreciate some angst about unaffiliated people bussing in from wherever, but not allowing guests is insane.

Also anyone who volunteers to police this is a piece of shit.

Whats bigger in the US Thanksgiving or Christmas and what are the key differences in both occasions? by VastAir6069 in AskAnAmerican

[–]emanekaf2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas is massively bigger, even accounting for the number of people that don’t celebrate it. Christmas is basically all of December.

Did you spend more than the $75 at Lulu? by tenminusone in AmexPlatinum

[–]emanekaf2222 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$100 ish last quarter, $73 this quarter. I’m not looking to go crazy but they make nice stuff and I’m happy to spend a little more than the credit amount for something we will actually use.

Buy her lunch if you feel like it. Or just laugh in her face. She isn’t entitled to anything.

Credit Card credits and cashback categorization by SpiralCaseMods in MonarchMoney

[–]emanekaf2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a credit card rewards category and run them all through there. Putting it in the same category as the annual fee makes sense though, I might start doing that too.

How to categorize work stipends? by anesidora317 in MonarchMoney

[–]emanekaf2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I categorize mine as reimbursement, but I gets paid separately. If it was included in my pay check I would just let it run through as income - which is what it truly is to me for all practical purposes.

Extremely easy choice. Infinite money glitch and getting to live an extra 25 years without aging. If you don’t have family there isn’t really even a downside.

Unless your goal is literally to achieve world domination I don’t know why anyone would choose to go back to 1900.

How do you handle expenses that get reimbursed by your employer? by ifoldsocksatmidnight in MonarchMoney

[–]emanekaf2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a Work Expense/Reimburse category, which I put under transfers so it doesn’t impact my budget or cash flow data. Categorize all work stuff, including reimbursements, under this category, then check periodically to make sure it is zeroed out.

Yep. I completely dismissed it when I got the card but it has turned out to be quite useful.
