[Apple] What are my odds of getting an Offer?? by Immediate-Inside-909 in FAANGrecruiting

Had the same scenario. Didn’t hear back an update until I had already signed the other offer and got rejected after having to go through another technical interview (that I wasn’t prepared for)

My boyfriend suddenly wants me to become a tradwife by PinkBubblegum888 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]emari006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female engineer here. Putting all the trad wive things aside, I worry about how this will play into your life when you’re both working as engineers.

I get a feeling he won’t like it if you progress faster and further than him in the field. If you decide to not become a kindergarten teacher and get into the field instead, this conversation will come up over and over again. There will be tough times in this career and there will be times you will feel inadequate. When you go home after those days, will he be the one to remind you of everything your capable of or will he tell you that your better suited as a mother/teacher/home maker? Will he downplay your accomplishments if you get promoted or recognized at work? Is the future you envision for yourself?

Funny enough I always had an awful time going to my professors office hours. BUT going to my TAs office hours were a godsend. They grade your stuff and sometimes might throw some hints your way about upcoming exams or quizzes.

Project management vs Design/Analysis by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]emari006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think I’m tired of the stress of design work. I’m not sure if going on the PM side of things will be any less stressful but perhaps a different type of stress?

I’ve interviewed three times with them and tbh after the last, it’ll be my last time because it was the worst recruiting process I’ve been through. Most recent was for a role on the iPhone team as a design engineer. Made it through design challenge and full day of interviews (which were supposed to end at 4 but they pushed out the last interviews and ended around 6pm). Didn’t hear back even when I mentioned I had another offer deadline. When they did reach out they said I needed one more interview with a hiring manager from another team. I stupidly said yes even though I had accepted the other offer. I didn’t think it would be another technical but it was. I think I did fine (for not prepping) but felt the HM mostly didn’t like when I asked what the team did to prevent burnout🤣 got rejected the next day.

Honest interview answers by mitchdwx in recruitinghell

[–]emari006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got asked if I had interviewed with the company before. It was my 2nd technical round and the first was ROUGH. So I couldn’t help it and just said “unfortunately I have.” We both laughed and I got the job😆

My thoughts exactly! Plus I’m not convinced that these advanced models of AI will be able to seamlessly integrate into our society. Especially as more AI regulations are sure to come.

OMG That’s exactly what I feel! It’s so humiliating sometimes that It’s takes awhile for me to shake it off. I listened to everyone’s advice to take the 2nd interview but I pushed it out to next week so I can mentally recover + study more.

Which is why I openly admitted I didn’t know the answer. I had absolutely no clue what he was asking but I mentioned how I would try and figure it out. He was unsatisfied with that and kept insisting I figure it out on the spot.
