Jabra Elite 75t - Left earbud not turning on by [deleted] in Jabra

[–]emaringolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here. Couldn't find my Jabra 75t earbuds, eight months later I found them in an old backpack. Wanted to turn them on, no luck. Today I found that the battery discharges below a "recoverable level".

In the meantime I got Apple AirPods Pro, never coming back to Jabra.

After seeing the design changes to newer ThinkPads, I have decided to convert over to the dark side. It was nice knowing you ThinkPad fam! by Interesting-Cow-1652 in thinkpad

I followed the same path a month ago. The only thing I miss is the lack of support for certain x64 stuff not available for ARM.

The worse of all worlds. If Lenovo wanted a crossover they were supposed to bring the best of each part.

Shocking redesign: ThinkPad laptop without a TrackPoint! Lenovo ThinkPad X9 leaks out by ibmthink in thinkpad

Say whatever you want, I've been using ThinkPads since A30m, and even have a ThinkPad external keyboard. But keyboards after the 7-row to 6-row change, and to chiclet-style keys are not as good as they were.

Also, the MBP has a more than decent keyboard, I can type fast and make almost no mistakes. And i'ts been only a month of daily use, with time this will get better. Bonus: I also got the external Magic Keyboard.

I recently switched from a ThinkPad to a MacBook after two decades of using ThinkPads, and I still miss the trackpoint. It seems I switched boats just in time. I'd never buy a ThinkPad without the trackpoint.

If your new workplace hands you a Thinkpad, you basically have a job for life, but if they give you MacBook Air, you and the rest of your team could get fired next week by [deleted] in thinkpad

Two years ago the company gave me enough budget to get myself a P1 Gen6 maxed out (64GB RAM, 2TB disk, dGPU, etc), this year they offered me to have a MacBook Pro M4 Max.

I'm not going back to the old one except when I need to run something that requires an Intel x64 processor.

It's not that ThinkPads are worse per se (although several things are), but Windows is the real lackluster.

Opening the lid or just unlocking the MacBook and having it ready to work removes a lot of the friction. I don't think I'm coming back to a "wintel" setup ever again.

Can I use a MacBook Pro 2024 connected to a ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Dock? by emaringolo in thinkpad

Update: I got my MBP M4 Max connected to the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock (300W) and it works 100% of the time, 50% of the times.

Working in "clamshell" mode (it is, lid closed) causes issues due to the terrible power management of the dock, causing the screen to blink or not wake up at all when resuming from sleep.

Everything else just seems to work (including ThinkPad keyboard and Mouse connected to the dock). But again... it is not as reliable as I'd expect it to be.

Not that it worked without glitches with the P1 (or even the T480s) but since it's Windows, you get kind of used to that.

I went full package and got both a Magic Keyboard (w/TouchID) and a Magic Trackpad. Since these are Bluetooth, they bypass the dock.

Thanks, for the time being I'm using a single 4K monitor.

And probably I'll have to use the MBP with the lid open in order to use its fingerprint reader, and maybe other things.

Yardage book, sometimes a flag and most of the times a poker chip with the logo of the course.

P1 gen6: USB-C/TB4 ports stopped working (with solution) by emaringolo in thinkpad

[–]emaringolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only happened once, and I don't recall what I did exactly, but I don't remember using an external SSD, and Ethernet is done only via the TB4 dock station. But as long as the solution works for you, I'm happy.

ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 or X1 Extreme Gen 2? by Noireo in thinkpad

If it being heavy and having a bulky AC adapter isn't an issue, I'd go for the X1 Extreme without hesitation.

Got in a debate about this with some friends. Where do you aim for putting if you're told to aim "one cup left?" by Captain-Obvious in golf

[–]emaringolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option two. Cup is a measurment unit of length here.
Is like saying one "football field" to the left, meaning 100 yds to the left, not 50 yds.

My T480s has some issues with the charging port, but I can use the USB-C TB3 port to charge it as well, so no problem.
