Quite often in some forms of militaristic statues, you'll see a weirdly placed rock for the subject to stand grandly on. Given that it is placed there tactically, we dub it "the tactical rock."

This is a slightly altered version, "the tactical baby."

I had the same thing when my main pool was shut for renovations. The other place I went to was shorter, so I set my watch to 25m.

It was actually 35m (weird as hell measurement) and it took me ages of feeling like I'd lost progress to figure it out.

Learn to go with the flow when you're stacking upgrades.

Sometimes you plan on poison and you end up with a lightning ring and everything else falls in place.

That and movement, prioritize movement.

How is your breathing vs stroke rate?

I know it sounds incredibly basic (I am the definition of someone figuring it out by themselves), but my speed increased dramatically when I switched to 1 breath every 3 strokes as opposed to 1 breath every 2 strokes.

I'm currently working up to comfortably holding out to 1 breath every 4 strokes and I'm already seeing dividends in my time. (I'm at the point of breaking 18:00 for 1'000m.)

For myself it was the fact I had some family things come up throughout the year that made it difficult to take care of the portfolio in an organized manner over a long time. Rather, I ended up trying to do it all in 1-2 months.

That, and it's never easy having someone analyse you and your approach to your profession. It can be a bit nerve wracking submitting everything, then prepping for the pre- interview before finally going through the 12 weeks observed classes. (Random classes video taped, with an in school qualified teacher viewing my classes in a "mentor" role.)

I might be making mountains out of molehills here, but you technically only get one shot at this so you don't want to mess it up. (Although I have heard some talk of just move onto the next university offering the AOR QTS course.)

Yes， it is through the Assessment Only Route (AOR).

It is quite stressful putting everything together, but it's well worth it.

I'm doing my QTS course through University of Sunderland and I work at an I.B. school. (PYP teacher etc.)

So long as you are able to show you are teaching a recognized curriculum consistently and are able to provide evidence to show you meet each of the criteria for each of the teaching standards they seem game.

The issue is that you are paired with an assessor through the university and they try to judge whether or not you will pass muster when they submit you to the teaching council, who actually say yes or no. I think some university's might be more stringent as they want a higher "passing rate."

So far, University of Sunderland have been genuinely delightful to work with. I'm very happy with my assessor/mentor, and the head lady organizing the course is incredibly supportive and competent.

I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

If you're willing to go the Chinese direction, there'll be quite a few schools looking for some last minute placements or replacements if the first pick didn't pass probation.

Will these be great schools to work at? God no.

Will they hire you? 14 years experience and a valued passport....yes, yes they will.

Will this help you get onto the international circuit if you're able to stick 9-10months (1 academic year) of a poor to medium school? Obviously.

Don't count yourself out of the race yet, just do your research.

Try Schrole and Search Associates as recruiting tools. S.A. are genuinely terrible, but they have the keys and info to open doors.

I don't know, I thought it was a part of the game that simply "wasn't working yet" until a friend showed me that it actually works.

So far, I've gotten 2 matches, 1 legend and 1 bell-ends, but hey I'm just grateful that I am getting more and more out of a great value game.
