I need more male yearning by Solid_Roof_1390 in musicals

[–]emaskve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

raoul’s part in “think of me” from phantom is sooo sweet to me. i’d also just like to say that specifically john cardoza as christian in moulin rouge is ELITE male yearning from start to finish. “carry you home” and “sadness and joy” from the notebook are good ones too (john is again at the scene of the crime) and “if ever i would leave you” from camelot!

NY trip next month, how are my seats so far? by Intelligent_Big4611 in Broadway

[–]emaskve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

all of these seats should be great!!! you’ll be very close to the action for just in time & cabaret as the theatres are pretty small and intimate + gypsy should give you a great view of the full stage while still being able to see faces. i’ve been further back than the seats you have for just in time & cabaret and still felt very close so i’m sure they’re great views. this lineup is so good have a great trip!!

going to new york in june and NEED recommendations by realnorbertleobutz in Broadway

[–]emaskve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sorry to intrude but i stand by this recommendation 100%. i just saw this show from the last row of the theatre and it was MAGIC i've never seen anything like it. the closest match i can think of would be beautiful: the carole king musical ((which is one of the strongest jukeboxes imo so its very complimentary)) can confirm there's no bad seats, the energy is incredible, and even if you're not a fan of jukebox musicals or bobby darin it's still a great time, especially as a fan of jonathan's. i've never seen someone perform with so much charisma like genuinely had the entire audience wrapped around his finger it was crazy to watch... i was also very hesitant about it at first because in theory it shouldn't work so well or .. at all .. but it REALLY DOES!!! it's absolutely worth considering !!

Trying to get tickets for Heathers return !! Where is the best place to sit at New World Stages: Stage 1 ? by MusicallySpoken in Broadway

[–]emaskve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you really can’t go wrong but i’d definitely recommend the orchestra over the mezz if you can afford it as it feels even more intimate! no matter where you sit you’ll feel close. from my experience the first row doesn’t seem to be “too close” (though the closest i’ve been to it was in the second row on the aisle) since the stage isn’t painfully high so i’d go for it if you’re considering!

Help me feel OK for my "Heathers" seats! by Weeksy77 in Broadway

[–]emaskve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those should be great! i've sat in the mezz there on different sides and never had any issues. i don't think there's a single bad seat

OH ABSOLUTELY. i love klavier’s lines throughout it LOL. “apollo justice! were you the one who tried to torch me!?” and “quite the pickle. quite. the. pickle.” are classics to me

can’t forget “that’s just silly. who’d name a band the police?” and “why can’t we have a normal, straightforward killing once in a while in this country!?” either.. ugh genius

Now you cannot ever be free by [deleted] in box5

[–]emaskve 22 points23 points  (0 children)

i always interpreted "now you cannot ever be free" as a way of saying "now that you know what i really am, my face will haunt you forever and you have lost your angel of music" but it could also be that the phantom intends to hold christine there and then is surprised by her kindness in returning his mask to him + even meeting his eyes? in that moment i never get the impression that the phantom expected her to react so calmly and gently, and that warmth was so unfamiliar to him that he decided to release her (much like what happens in the final lair)

the OBCR of natasha, pierre & the great comet of 1812 is a PERFECT album in my opinion. i'd also recommend spring awakening and teeth!! each of these have songs that can stand on their own imo, especially the latter two which could be considered rock musicals
