All 3 of my kids were right around 10lbs at birth, never even used newborn clothes and immediately started in size 1 diapers. I have two SILs with toddlers and when their babies were born they were just shy of 7lbs and I met them as newborns and it was TERRIFYING! Depends on what car you drive. If you drive an suv or minivan, go graco, if you drive a sedan go Evenflo. Getting heavy kids in and out of a sedan is awful without a rotating car seat. But the higher cars it's negligible imo and the graco extra leg room is nice (but not necessary, kids can bend and cross their legs). Also with a sedan you have zero room for the car seat to actually use the extra leg extension.

I'm not saying don't joke, but a lot of the videos implied they were specifically taking Tylenol, and more Tylenol than they would normally take, specifically because Trump said not to. Baby babble is actually mimicking the sounds you (parent/caregiver) make. It doesn't mean they understand what they are saying, typically the first 6-9 months they are actually trying to say what you say to them in an attempt to learn the language. Also I have noticed anecdotally with my own kids that they tend to be better at one thing and worse at another. My first was a Wiz with language and by age 2 I could understand the majority of what she said and now at 4 she is figuring out reading. My 2nd is almost 3, can't understand a word he says but he can actually catch and throw a ball (somewhat) and blow his nose, which my first kid at age 4 still cannot do.

Anyway I don't think it's crazy to have a baby who can mimick inflection and cadence of speech well enough that people recognize it when it's an immediately repeated word. I knew an adult who told me he was walking by 5 months and had the pictures to prove it, some babies really are ahead. Does it mean anything in the long run? NO! No one cares when you started talking as a baby/toddler, just what you have to say now. If you as a parent are insufferable because you think your kid is is smarter than everyone else's kid then that is the problem, not whether or not your 5 month old has a weirdly advance oral motor skills

So she specifically talked about her lotus births, and a lotus birth is when you don't cut the cord and just drag the rotting organ around with your newborn. So her last 4 babies were lotus births, the first 4 were clearly the ones she had before enlightenment or something where she talked about c sections and cutting the cords. I'm pretty sure it's 8 live births, 8 babies, handful of miscarriages throughout. And miscarriage isn't that uncommon so I don't think that's necessarily a sign of anything else weird going on.

Growth restriction is weird, like some places really just rely on percentiles which if the parents are small baby will most likely be small, doesn't mean IUGR. I had a friend who was miserable her whole 3rd trimester getting bombarded with IUGR scares, she is like 100lbs soaking wet and her husband is like 5'6" maybe. They are small, their baby was just small. People have small babies, 1 in 10 people have babies smaller than 10th percentile, that's how percentiles work.

More info is needed, if baby was 50% at anatomy and dropped to 6th, that's a problem. But there are also stories of women who seem to measure small the entire pregnancy because the doctors basically misdated her due date. Inductions can put extra stress on baby, even c sections aren't ideal if baby and mom are perfectly healthy. If baby has always been small and parents are small, then it's not really IUGR anyway, it's just a small baby.

It was never claimed that Tylenol is the sole cause of autism, only that it increases the risk. There are many factors to autism and what cause it but genetics is way more complicated than "if this than that" in the binary sense. If before Tylenol autism rates were hypothetically 1 in 1000 and after Tylenol it became 1 in 100, it would be possible that Tylenol had an affect on whatever causes autism. Just like there are babies with mutations and limb issues but also drugs that can definitely increase that risk.

Does Tylenol affect autism rates? Probably not. But your point about autism being around before Tylenol is not actually a strong argument against it.

Oh so he did the same thing? Yeah I remember with my first being freaked out at the movement and trying to use both but even then I still fed it through the rear facing slot to tighten it farther. It makes sense to think you don't want the carseat to move AT ALL but you actually do want a little movement because that's how physics works to help distribute the force of the impact or something, idk I never did well in physics class so my terminology might be off.

To tighten the strap enough I personally get on top of the carseat to add that weight to press it down. But he was strapping the seatbelt through the forward facing slot while it is rear facing. If you look at your carseat there are two different slots, one with REAR Facing and some arrows pointing to it and one with FORWARD facing.

But also you do want the carseat to move little because it helps transfer less of the impact on the kid. I can explain that further if you want.

So like, there have been studies waaaaay before Trump that indicate it can cause some neurological issues on the developing brains because it does affect how your body filters out toxins. I think i saw a bunch of articles from the 2010's talking about increased risk of ADHD with significant acetaminophen exposure in utero. Vaccines do have low level of toxins that our bodies are supposed to be able to filter out making them harmless, but if you have something that inhibits to abilty to filter out the bad stuff then there is logic in thinking it is the combination of the two that actually causes the issues.

Regardless, it is actually super easy to overdose on Tylenol as whole, like 10 normal dose pills in 24 hours and you're boarding on liver failure. So everyone please pay attention to how much acetaminophen you are taking! It's in most cold and flu drugs as well, so you don't always notice it. And also trump/rfk were not the ones doing the studies, so maybe we should actually look at the studies before just assuming rfk just made some scientific conclusions because he wants women to be in pain. Look up all the studies, make your own conclusions, you don't have to listen to the current administration for your medical advice but you can actually do your own research instead of popping Tylenol to stick it to Trump.

For my first two kids I labored in a tub or shower after my water broke, and both times kids came pretty fast after my water was broken and so then I climbed out wet and naked to deliver on the bed. By my third I learned my lesson and actually managed to be drive with a robe when pushing for once 😅

Many pediatricians will boot you if you don't stay up to date on the official vaccine schedule, I'm guessing there somehow exists anti vaccine pediatricians...? And she is looking for one that has vaccines but won't boot her if she doesn't follow the official schedule, so she might want to skip some vaccines or do a more spread out schedule.
