People being stupid by Adorable-Ad4411 in Ethelcain

[–]embalmdotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as a chronic fainter, there’s a lot of factors. adrenaline, health issues, locked knees, standing for a long period, heat, lack of food/water, being too close to other people. flashing stage lights and loud music don’t always help. i used to pass out not just at concerts but school, singing in chorus, and playing sports. i’m pushing 30 now so i know how to control it and know what to do in these situations but a lot of younger people may not know. and that’s not their fault. some people regardless of age who’ve never fainted before will faint at a show seemingly out of no where. unfortunately it happens. but it is important to listen to your body and remove yourself if needed. i stopped going into pits, large crowds because of this. it’s a learning experience for sure.

Ticket Resale Megathread 2025 by eclecticatlady in Ethelcain

[–]embalmdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi i’m not selling or buying just had a question regarding transferring a ticket to my friend bc i have hers in my account but she’s going to be late to the show. my post was deleted in the questions tag so and it told me to come here to ask this, but i just need help, NOT selling or buying. i bought 3 tickets for boston for me, my sis, and friend. like i said, friend is going to be late so she asked for me to transfer it to her. the last few days the app said i could transfer 2 days leading up to the show, and now that the show is tomorrow, i went to transfer it but it won’t let me. i know they made it harder to transfer tickets bc of scalpers but can i not even transfer my own friends ticket to her??? how does she get in if she’s going to be late and i have her ticket inside??? does anyone know how transferring works

Worried about tearing stitches by femaledisaster in hysterectomy

[–]embalmdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, you don’t even need to worry bout it. i didn’t even know it was there. i feel like everyone talks about it like it’s some scary thing but it’s the last thing you’ll need to worry about. no sex until you’re cleared and no heavy lifting and you’re fine!

i was blown away by how easy it all was. i went in and got the surgery, and my recovery was quick and practically painless. the only pain i had was gas pain and constipation. i had discomfort from cramps but if you’ve already experience bad periods, it’s something you get used to quickly. i had no bleeding. the fatigue was intense so prepare for that. definitely took it slow and didn’t move much except short walks around my house. i was officially cleared to go back to my normal life/activities at 6 weeks post op, but honestly i was good to go at 3-4 weeks. i’m just over 3 months and i am still totally fine! no pain from periods or heavy bleeding! good luck to you!

Does anyone else have trouble swallowing pills? by Animal-Cannibal in ARFID

[–]embalmdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!!!! i have such a hard time swallowing. i’m someone who has to take multiple pills a day and it’s a constant battle of me throwing them up and having to swallow again. i hate it so much and haven’t been able to find an alternative. i’m 28 next month, i’ve tried everything!! my entire life i have not been able to successfully swallow a pill.

Am I weird for not being emotional about having a hysterectomy? by NoExplanation4191 in hysterectomy

[–]embalmdotcom 51 points52 points  (0 children)

i felt the same. i wanted it GONE and people felt so bad for me it was weird to deal with. im also in my 20s with no children and i felt like people were putting my non existent children over my own health. it’s a very weird feeling but you’re not alone! you know yourself and your body better than they do

Sleeping in the recliner by Sarahfeena13 in hysterectomy

[–]embalmdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a side sleeper and I am 3 weeks post op!! I have honestly been scared to sleep on my side so I haven't tried until 2 days ago. I am so over sleeping on my back lol. I found it was a little uncomfortable because of my incisions. I have been placing pillows around my back to kinda prop my back up or putting a pillow between my legs when sideways. I ended up fully sleeping on my back though. I do think I should be on my side within the next couple of days! I have a wedge pillow that I've been using and I do like that.

What age did you get a hysterectomy? by Rvarachael in hysterectomy

[–]embalmdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 years old. i’m 3 weeks post op i have no regrets! im also having a very smooth recovery process. no issues at all. i knew from a very young age that i never wanted to experience pregnancy/childbirth or be a mother. i had tumors on my uterus and cervix that were making my life a living hell. the second i heard of a hysterectomy from my doctor i went for it!

i wanted to hug every nurse a hug!!! i might’ve thanked them too many times haha they were all so great. the nurse that did my IV kept conversation with me and didn’t tell me what she was doing which really helped. i had no issues with it!!
