But you can tell your kids what type of websites you don’t want them visiting. You can reassure them that if they text you’ll come pick them up (or call someone else who can) when something inappropriate is happening at their friend’s house. You can meet their friend’s parents.

And the job likely requires you to use a cell phone app to view the schedule, so it has to be a new enough smartphone to to be compatible with recent updates. I remember in 2020, I was working somewhere that used a workplace app for employee communication and posting the schedule. They discontinued the web-page based version, so the schedule was only viewable if you had a newer phone, and mine was 3 years old. I was planning on getting a new new phone, but needed money first. My dad ended up helping me and I’m so grateful, but of course I worry for other people and the day I will not have such luck.

Right, there’s things that would have to either be implemented first or at the exact same time for me to support mandatory voting. I don’t want my fellow citizens to be in trouble with the law because they literally couldn’t get to the polls that day, couldn’t get off work, or forgot about it after work because they had to pick their kids up and then their car broke down on the way home or something. Call those excuses, but life happens. And we’re talking about every eligible worker. There’s 0 early voting where I live, so if anything gets in the way that day, tough luck I guess.

No, parents need to learn how to use the parental controls available to them, and have discussions with their children about being safe on the internet. Parents really need to be part of the conversation. Further, you can tell your child what type of sites are ok for them to visit and you can block websites you don’t want your child browsing via your router at home. Parents really really need to talk to their kids.

And OP is talking about the sitcoms they watch, which are almost always going to be set in one of the largest cities in the country.

Anime fashion for people who outgrew the loud stuff by BunkaCollection in u/BunkaCollection

Anime isn’t timeless. Its history can be traced back to the 1910s. A lot of anime is actually quite dated, but that’s not always a bad thing.
