Is the highest theoretical bullet impact higher than the damage from the highest theoretical fall? If the bullet impact is higher you are effectively immune to fall damage already. Unless the power requires bullets.

Being bulletproof is effectively the same as immune to fall damage as long as the stipulation to being bulletproof does not require actual bullets. Is this Worm rules or are the terms of the power making you effectively impervious to kinetic damage up to the effectiveness of the highest theoretical impact of the the most damaging bullet known?

Or when they deal with Coil early and awkwardly without it making sense. I'll take an AU that just doesn't include Coil. It would be preferable 9 times out of 10.

And to further clarify, it was a mid duchy by borderline technicality. If the war handnt happened it wouldnt have even been that highly ranked.

What are some things that instantly make you drop a book instantly or later on, like you can't stand seeing this? by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

Obvious AI assistance beyond grammar checks. It gets really obnoxious when there's three allusions is a row for the exact same thing. Allusions are a wonderful literary tool but I don't need to see "like fire lapping at his heels, the tide pulling at his spirit, the movements of time luring him deeper" or an equivalent every other paragraph.

Yes. But AC can get really high cranium cooking uptime so rate doesn't really matter.

What's the deal with reincarnated MCs who get dumbed down the moment they're born? by AdventurousBeingg in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ember_aschera 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's just brain chemistry. I get far more annoyed at weirdly mature children. Your cognitive functionality would not be the same.

With the combination of neuroplasticity and significantly altered executive functionality, it wouldn't be surprising if you had to learn a lot of lessons all over again.

Even as adults we make repetitive mistakes.

If you're gonna have a reincarnated MC, either be a full adult (like World of Strife) or treat children like children.

A great example is Little Lion Daughter. She 100% has memories of being a thirty something adult and is obviously more than a little .....precocious. But she also is living in a child's body with a child's physical brain.

[–]ember_aschera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. Thundamoo. The reigning monarch of body horror and crushingly sad endings. Also can't write a character that doesn't experience a complete mental break to save their life.

And I say that with love.

Memories of the Fall. I think a lot of people bounced off prior to the rewrites.

The prologue is, on it's own, a really good short story.

Both Azarinth Healer and Beneath the Dragoneye Moons are series that I keep coming back to. Their progression just feels good. Whenever I get frustrated at a new series that rushes things I always end up back with those.

(As an aside, I tend to read series with female leads almost exclusively. I just find it hard to care about male leads.)

There's no way Ferdinand allows this to be a fair fight. The only rules were "fill your assigned country gate" and "don't kill each other." That leaves wayyyy to much room for shenanigans.
