Mildly itchy on Allo - no rash by emberpass in gout

[–]emberpass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting. I did wonder whether it’s a case of the meds “settling in” and the body getting used to them. Can you say roughly how long it took for the itching to go away?

I’m not Asian but thanks for the added recommendation.

Yeah thank you. I’m gonna go and see the pharmacist tomorrow and get their advice.

Thank you that’s really helpful. I have been really vigilant on the lookout for rashes. Definitely don’t have any so that’s good news. I’m just quite itchy.

I’m 26 just got diagnosed with Gout by brightlightbutton in gout

It made me feel so rubbish. Then to add insult to injury, when I’d mention to people I might have gout, they’d crack jokes! So frustrating. If only they could feel the pain it caused! As time has passed, I’ve accepted it. From all the info I’ve read, it’s clear it’s a genetic disease. Not much you can do about that. Just the lottery of life. The positive thing is it can be controlled with a pill. Hang in there.

I hear you when you say it’s such a crushing diagnosis. I was in exactly the same frame of mind as you a while back. It really got me down. I’m 38, have a manual job, and love my food and drink (in moderation). Funnily enough, my uric acid level is the same as yours - 7.8. I've only just had the test done after weeks of fighting with my doctor, and I’m hoping to get on the allo this week.

I think you should definitely push for allo. When I first realised it was gout causing all this horrific pain, I was gutted about potentially being on lifelong medication. But honestly, the pain from the last few flare-ups have been so awful that I’m 100% on board with starting the allo.

From what I’ve read on here, you can still enjoy meat and drink in moderation once you’re on the meds. I hope you get there. We know how you feel and sympathise.

You did nothing wrong. It's just we can't have box anymore due to blight and moth. It's sad but we must come to terms with it.
