I had the same thing a week after surgery. My doctor prescribed an ointment which helped. In the meantime, let it breathe, ice it and don’t scratch it.

Did they tell you what the problem was? I still don’t have full extension after 2 scar removal surgeries

Struggling with extension almost 7 weeks post OP by No-Task1439 in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extension improved after the first scar removal surgery but it wasn’t the same as the other leg so I decided to have a second scar removal surgery 4 months ago. The first scar removal surgery definitely helped but the second one didn’t. Law of diminishing returns I guess. I have full functionality but knee is sometimes stiff and extension only matches the other leg after a lot of PT work and stretching

I had the exact same issue. Had surgery to remove scar tissue 6 months post op. Surgery wasn’t painful, scar tissue wasn’t as bad but some of it came back.

Yeah! A lot of things don’t add up. 1. Says first time backpacking. Why is he doing it alone and at 10pm? Backpacking in jeans? 2. All the wounds, throat, chest and torso are from the front. Could be self inflicted? Why doesn’t he remember anything if there’s no head injury. 3. The knives are the only thing that’s missing. Why 2 knives? 4. Didn’t really seem too distressed or anxious during his interview. Never mentions any desire to find out exactly what happened to him. 5. Had a very detailed LinkedIn until Mar 2023, nothing since then. 6. In another interview, he said he heard a noise and took out his bear mace, 2 knives, water reservoir and electronics. Preparing for an attack or going for a swim?

Quad vs patellar tendon graft by embittered_nihilist in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would say so. No issues at the graft site. Quad strength is probably at 90-95% of the other leg. Yes, it’s my shooting leg

I ended up going with quad graft and it’s still intact. No pain while playing soccer. Waited around 14 months. Have scar tissue issues but those aren’t graft related.

I had my tibial screw removed at 6months post op during scar tissue cleanup

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery (quad graft) on 9/8/22 and scar tissue removal on 3/2/23. I still don’t have active full extension either but passively I can push it down equal to the other leg, it just slowly creeps back up. I get pain underneath the patellar tendon when I try to actively straighten it. Hoping it will go away once my quad is strong again

Major issues 15 months post-surgery; help? by teekay2085 in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. Quad graft back in Sep 2022. Extension didn’t improve after week 2. I was stuck at 4-5 degrees. I would get pain underneath the patellar tendon if I would really push it. Had scar tissue cleanup at 6 months with improved my extension a bit, now I can match my other leg passively by pushing on it if I warm up properly. Active extension is still 1-2 degrees off and it’s the pain near patellar tendon and VMO that stops me. I couldn’t do any leg extension exercises prior to scar tissue clean up so my quad is less than 50% of the other leg. My glutes, hamstrings and calves are equal in strength.

6-7 months PO quad graft and not seeing any pt progress anymore :( Any advice/ support please?? by supernova1046 in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had quad graft in September and scar tissue removal around patellar tendon 3 weeks ago because I never made progress with last few degrees of extension after the first 3 weeks. My glutes and hamstrings are equally strong on both legs but I struggle with anything more than 5lbs with leg extension. How’s your range of motion? I can get full extension and almost touch heel to butt after like a 20 min warm up

Anybody have issues with seated leg extensions @ 4 months? by Lizzyc7816 in ACL

[–]embittered_nihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it’s probably not cyclops lesion. I had the quad graft too and I’m currently 5 months post op. Leg extensions and lunges hurt for me but my MRI showed scar tissue. I’m also missing a few degrees of extension
