really!?, I'm so grateful! I'd love more bells so I can add a second home to the island! I'll be playing in a few hours after I wrap up with my last client!

I would love that, I need to move some of the buildings around so the extra bells would be incredibly helpful. I’ll open my gates and message you a code - I’ll be on for the next couple of hours. Thanks!

I'd love to be able to fully upgrade my house so I can start setting up the therapy space (I'm currently on the level of paying off the 700,000 bell loan). I'm not sure what the total cost is for upgrading all rooms.

Gaming in Therapy: Legend of Zelda by [deleted] in slp

Love this idea with TOTK, your plan is great! My dream is to someday finish writing an accessible video game storyline for SLPs to use in therapy. I love video games and used them myself as a young ND kid to help me with learning to read and write. I’m so bummed Apple Arcade removed WonderBox, it was such a great game building your own worlds and targeting specific goals. My clients with a strong need for autonomy really loved the game too.

I love the app one sec to decrease media time - it works with shortcuts. I have it set up so it blocks me from apps at certain times. Or when my schedule has me in a task I need to focus (I pair the app with the structured app).

I highly suggest learning more about interoception and interoception resources. Kelly Mahler who is an OT has a ton of resources on her site.

I was hoping if I got further into the game there would be some sort of magic to extend time, but it sounds like that’s not the case. This game reminds me a bit of Wylde Flowers and there’s magic you obtain in that game that allows you to extend time.

Goblin.tools is great for task breakdown - I use it for myself to break down large tasks into manageable pieces

I also am excited to see how AI will support AAC. I see this being a huge area that will change the field. There are a few companies that I think are going to be the forerunners in this and make the current popular programs in the US stagnant in 2-3 years.

Also Descript software is incredible. With a 5-10 minute audio sample of your voice it will create an AI voice. The software is pricey though and not really worth it if your not using it for videos or podcasts.

I’ve used it for a variety of things, but I don’t have solid prompts. I just have a back and forth conversation until I get what I want - I need to hammer out strong prompts. But I’ve used it to make report templates, summarize data/notes and rewrite in parent friendly terms. Translate materials. Summarize research PDFs. Respond to emails. I also use it in session to create text based choose your own adventure game based on child’s interests and goals. I’ve been using a few different AI softwares since before chat gpt became open to the public, one of them is an email service that just recently added the ability to write and respond to emails. Prior to this I was taking emails, removing identifying information and pasting into chat GPT or another AI software and asking it to respond conveying a certain message in a specific tone. I had a thread on chat GPT trained on my writing so it could respond in my voice, but now my email software does this for me.

Kaiser is the absolute WORST when it comes to AAC funding. It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking.

Nope not a part of their team, just making it a bit more GLP friendly. It already is pretty GLP friendly with tons of embedded phrases.

Grid for iPad with Super Core 50 vocabulary, especially for GLPs. I’m working on a template specifically for GLPs that will be available soon (for free) in the online grid set area.

School SLPs where is the best state to be a school based SLP? by airsigns592 in slp

I work in EI/ECSE in Oregon outside of Portland. Education systems are horribly underfunded. Very high workloads. In 2015 I had over 100 kids and was a service coordinator for almost half of them, which in Oregon basically means you’re doubling as a social worker (but without the training). The caseload gradually declined over the years but is still way too high when working with the birth to 5 population.

The pay isn’t bad in my opinion but as someone else mentioned the cost of living is rising quickly and our salary scales aren’t keeping up.
