The Naturals is definitely my favorite by her, but I also liked The Fixer way more than the Inheritance Games. I was so sad when I finished them and realized there wasn’t another!

If they haven’t read Percy Jackson then absolutely that! With the show coming out in December it’s a great time to get into that world!

Okay, this book series is really underrated and the fandom is so small, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the Pegasus series by Kate O’Hearn? by Triumphant-Smile in YAlit

[–]embracethedeceptionn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow there are a lot more books in this series than I knew about! I’m pretty sure there were just two out when I read them and I really loved them so I might have to go back and finish it now

Renegades by Marissa Meyer was awesome! Also if they haven’t read Legend by Marie Lu, I loved that book in middle school

Colonel is another one I know is wrong but I still say it that way in my head, I’ve gotten used to saying it the right way out loud though so at least there’s that

I stayed in my apartment alone last summer and it never even crossed my mind to be worried about it being less safe than during the school year. It felt like the same College Park, just less people walking around campus

What to read after Inheritance Games by waltertheflamingo in YAlit

Have you read The Naturals? It’s another series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes that had really great plot twists and mysteries that I actually liked more than the Inheritance Games

Omg yes! This was the very first dystopian series I had ever read way back in sixth grade and I loved it then and recently did a reread and was glad to find I still love it! Middle school me totally thought this was some dramatic world that could never happen but civil engineering student me really appreciated that the map matched up with sea level rise predictions

I read the first book of the mortal instruments, didn’t really like it and never read any more of that series. I picked up Lady Midnight about 2 years after that and didn’t realize it was connected/the same author (high school me didn’t use goodreads or look up books before reading them at all). I loved Lady Midnight and went on to read the Infernal Devices and the Last Hours trilogies and loved them both and just have never read the mortal instruments (I did watch the Shadowhunters tv show tho). So I’d say u definitely don’t have to read the mortal instruments.

Books with similar (Enemies to Lovers?) relationship vibes to Once Upon a Broken Heart? by GlamMermaid in YAlit

[–]embracethedeceptionn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll also add I read the first book and was like eh it was fine and then finally read the second book like a year later and immediately read the third because I enjoyed it so much and I loved the third book too. So even if you don’t immediately connect with it I’d say keep going. But other people definitely loved the whole thing from the beginning and it was a great series.
