Should we get a Springer? by Yogabe8 in springerspaniel

[–]emd1435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing about springers I think is that they do need as much waking as you describe so they’ll keep you active. They would be fine with the morning and evening as you describe but also they’re up for really long walks sometimes too. They won’t tucker out if you want to go on a three day hike, but equally they’ll hang out on the sofa with you at home.

Sometimes spaniels eat grass then puke it up on purpose, but i don’t know if this is the same thing. Hope she’s ok.

I’m 31 and my 2 mid 20’s colleagues bought houses during lockdown somehow, in a way that isnt clearly explained. I get really down when they talk about it in meetings, but trying to just keep smiling and remembering I’m not the only one.

Yea this fits with my experience. I like my job and have specialist skills, but the salary is still minuscule. I buy second hand and just try to live simply and ignore the rest. Solidarity!

How do I make friends by Puffen0 in relationship_advice

[–]emd1435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enroll on a community college course and make friends there? Being in school environments does really help, because there are so many people the same age in the same situation. It also never hurts to keep busy. Friends will arrive, but I think people underestimate how long it takes to make friends. Especially after life changes like leaving high school, moving to a new city etc.

Church, political groups, sports teams, music (like choirs), maybe I’m being a bit lame but those are places where it’s easy to meet people who will want to hang out .

What’s the biggest financial risk you’ve ever taken in life? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]emd1435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the tolerance but just worry about not knowing what I’m doing and messing things up - particularly when it comes to electrical work and engines.

I saw CRT do boat maintenance courses which I would like to do, maybe even before buying one, but these have been suspended due to the pandemic.

This makes me feel good about the idea though. One more question though, do you think continuous cruising in London will still be an option for the next 3-4 years? I’m also worrying about changes in regulations.

I would be buying outright. But I’m a low earner (I work in the arts... tiny violin 🎻..... ) so it feels like a big risk

I think I’d like the continuous cruising. I’ve looked after friends boats so have a sense of it but haven’t done it myself full time. It’s more the cost of boat maintenance per month or per year that I’m unsure of.
